So I am starting my research for my 1st pack build. I am very interested in creating my own mold as I have been wanting to get into making molds and casting for other things for some time now. I remember seeing Venkmen71’s site on creating a mold a while back but it now appears that site is down. Does anybody know if it moved? Or did anybody download it? Also does anybody have any other links that would help me get started in making a mold such as what products are best? Suppliers? Tutorials? I apologize if I have missed something in the threads and am duplicating questions already asked. I did try searching prior to posting. ---

Try [http://www.smooth-on.com/](http://www.smooth-on.com/) They have lots of mold making and casting supplies. Also, check out their youtube page for tutorial videos. ---

I have seen there site and browsed their products. Have you used their products? I wasn’t sure if they had good products or good marketing department. ---

Thanks for the reply and all the links. As I said I had searched on everything prior to posting. I wasn’t trying to be lazy. I had read through most of the links you sent me. It seemed most of them were lengthy discussions on how buying a shell would be cheaper than molding one yourself. Not so much on the process or products used. I would like to start molding myself for this project and others. I also don’t plan on molding a pack as my first project either. Currently just in research phase. I really like the tutorial from Venkman71, but site appears to be down and I didn’t have it saved offline. I was also interested in the products used (brands). I assume you can buy good and bad products that will affect your mold? Perhaps its all the same. Again thank you for the links, I will look through them again for anything I missed, and perhaps can post more detailed questions on what I’m unsure about.
