I’m constantly hot gluing stuff back together on the Burgh Pack mk II’s when the boys go out to an event. I hope to make the BP III more durable.
haha time to upgrade the glue then! Try epoxy. More durable.
I use it here and there since I have more hot glue than I do epoxy. : ) But the next pack will probably have…screws!

Def underestimated the value of screwing everything together. Some parts I epoxied together fell off yesterday.
Almost all my damage has been hot glued parts coming off. Gorilla glue and screws for me, baby!
Now I use a 1-2 combo.. I put gorilla glue on, leav e some spall places, and add some superglue locktite gel. That sets fast, and holds the part in place until the gorilla glue sets properly and kicks in. Plus if keeps the gorilla glue spread from creating space between the parets being glued together.
I put 4 drywall screws into the cardboard mounted with hotglue to the back of the microwave cover pan–it’s not coming off (for the Burgh Pack Mk III) Will post pics on a diff thread soon…
How did Halloween go? What fell off? Epoxy is usually pretty sturdy.
OK Ladies and Gents. I wrapped up my build a few days ago and I figured I’ll post the last of the build pics for you to see.
First off, here are the pictures from my Bumper construction. Made some custom templates in CAD and printed them out full size.
I took some 1-1/2" thick wood and planed it down nice and even. Turned out i was a hair too short so I had to tack another strip on top
Then I cut out the center rail template and glued it to the piece
here is the part cut out and cleaned up pretty good
Then, I cut side rails out of 1/8" acrylic. In this pic you can see how I split one rail in two becasue I didn’t have a big enough piece to cut it together.
Next, i started to cut out what I called the side wings. I used a template that had a front view, side view and top view. I glued all these pictures to a piece of wood I planed down to the correct sizes. For one of the cuts, I screwed the pieces together to make sure the were exact mirrors of each other

And putting it all together. Also you can see I predrilled the hole for the shock mount so I didnt have to try and find the center of an odd piece again.

After that I applied bondo to get rid of all the imperfections and wood grains. Also kind of hard to see here but I was able to add the radius between the center rail and side rails by globing bondo there and using a 1/8" diameter wooden rod to screed away the bondo. Worked really well.
That’s it for the bumper I don’t have anymore shots ( started to rush) You can see the final product on the finished shots.
Here are a few more Misc shots. I’m kinda burned out on writing now ( and fighting a cold a co worker decided to give me 2 days before Halloween) so a little lacking on the description side for these ones.

Attaching trigger box. Had to drill holes through the side to secure to rear box. Oh well thats what bondo is for.
To get nice even hole for my N-filter I decided to use a 1/2" leather hole punch on some styrene plastic to basically plug the holes up. Beats trying to paint white over black.

Wasn’t happy how the split loom for the tubing turned out the first go around ( very un-even) so this time I thought Id get some dowel rod, slip the split loom on it, then use a blade to cut perfectly even split loom …um…thingers ( whats the word?)
And now for the final pictures. 4 months 2 days and 20 hrs…well worth it. Turned out pretty good. Still gonna add some dirt effects, rusting and need to make the handles for the wand but later I think… Now to think about a trap and googles. Hope you enjoyed this build and maybe learned a few techniques. If you see something I did and would like further explanations, let me know. I’m on here regularly and don’t mind helping out or offering my opinion. Thanks to everyone who lent a hand and helped a newb out.

Thanks guys. Yea you know I thought that was gonna be the biggest pain; the part that would give me the most problems, but it turned out to be not so bad when you plan it all out ahead of time.

eh they should. i can bring my pack with me and you can see the lights in person if you want, but that may not be entirely necessary.
Here are some shots of my pack after adding a dirty look to it. In the flash it looks like I just stepped off mars as some one said haha but its actually a lot more subtle in real lighting conditions. Also a video of my lights…when they decided to work.

Also, its interesting that after 25 years, you’d think that the advances in technology would yield a simpler lighting solution, yet you managed a ten fold increase in complexity… I’m impressed.
