All The Cool Kids Are Doing It... (Micro Update)

So I recently acquired my base items to start my aluminum thrower build. I just have to pace myself so I don’t end broke…

And I assume you will be welding this together?

Yes. I wont be personally, but it will be welded up, just gotta find a local metal shop…

Where you get the front handle?

Dimensionalfabrications

Thought so. Damn, can’t wait to get my aluminum thrower from him. Hopefully tomorrow…

Its high quality stuff. Highly recommended. Oh by the way I got my stuff from you in the mail today. THANKS!

I tried contacting Dimensional Fabrications a couple of weeks back, because all their stock says “0” on the website. Are they still taking orders and shipping them out, then?

It’s like seeing your kid start his first day at school

He’s currently traveling to California from Texas so it will probably be a few days till he’s reachable. He told me he will stock his products towards the end of Jan going into Feb.

Most of his stuff is gone because he was concentrating on his gun body run recently. Just missed it bro.

Anybody know where I can get a top knub? I don’t want to have to get a whole pipe just to use an inch or so off of it…

You can order from onlinemetals.com

They cut to size, but shipping cost is where they hit your wallet.

So I should try to get all the aluminum I need in one shot huh?

Yea, that would be wise.

Hopefully I can take this thing all the way through grad school!

Ace checkout VinC’s DIY metal on top of the proton pack section. Its cheap they cut to size and do not screw you on shipping.

Ok. So I’ve gotten my items picked out and un my shopping cart from speedymetals.com and im in my last “dilemma”. For the mounting brackets should I go with aluminum or steel?

Oh and of hand anybody know off the top pf their head what the diameter of the top nub is for the gun body. I think its 5/8" and 1/4" tall.

Aluminum brackets are accurate, but obviously steel would be stronger.

I got a couple things for the aluminum thrower yesterday…

This it the top nub, I went with solid round so I can drill and tap it for the stream adjuster knob.

Here is my heat sink, thanks to the gbfans shop!

I also got a front cylinder; its a little too long, but it was also only like a dollar.

On a side note I got these L brackets, I opted to go with steel, just so the holes would hold the thread better than aluminum.

Here are my handles and acrylic tip from MMM
