Looking to build a trap and have my cart filled here, before I pull the trigger, however, can someone confirm that the aluminum plating sold in the shop fit Nick-A-Trons kit?

I want to build a GB1 trap, but the plates say GB2, not sure how big a difference or if they’ll still fit. I’m also ordering the GB1 side vector plate, can I just install it over the gb2 plates? Is that going to cause an issue.

Any help before I order would be appreciated.

Thanks

The size of the traps is different. The length of the body panels is 10" on the gb1 traps while sean has the gb2 panels at 8-13/16". As for the vectors, you could install the gb1 vector on the gb2 metal trim if you want, but my suggestion is to either pick the gb1 size and stick with all things gb1 or go with a gb2 trap and stick with all things gb2.

Higgs, this is the thread where I discussed the trap plating with AJ :

Basically, Hijacker is right; Nick’s kit is GB1 hero style and the shop stocks GB2 stunt, so they won’t fit.

I originally used MMM’s trap plating which fitted Nick’s trap perfectly, however Colin has shut up shop for now. Nick can _possibly_ source some plating that will fit his trap, but your best bet is to seek the services of one of the known metalworkers on this site. Either that or try and find a shop or online shop that will custom cut metal to small sizes (this is what I managed to do for my next trap build with its track for the removable cartridge).

Thanks for all the replies guys, I’m going to work with one of my fellow CTGB’s and cut up some aluminum and make my own plates to keep it GB1.

Thanks!
