Update. I figure I have one more evening to weather and put all the doo-dads on and then I get to finish up the thrower
Update: I’m sitting the pack aside so I can focus on the thrower but this is where I’m at on the pack. I’ll finish the few things left (and correcting the crooked filler plug) Thursday when I’m off work.

Thanks goes out to KC for his thread. Without it I wouldn’t have ever thought I could have done something like this.
I finished the pack enough that my son could wear it. I added lights to the thrower so one toggle switch turns on the pack and the second turns on the gun. I have a small momentary switch that lights up the barrel. In all I’m very satisfied since this is my first build. It really gave me an idea of what is involved and how easy it is to underestimate this type of project. I still plan to complete the pack post halloween since I have most the parts to do so anyway.
Looks great. How much did it end up weighing?
Between 4 and 5 lbs. I was surprised with how light it turned out being even with the thrower.

The costume was a great hit. Some of the kids didn’t know what he was but parents sure did. He got compliments all night. We stopped by a store and one guy started singing the theme song.

Hey, I’ve been using this thread for inspiration on my kids’ halloween packs, but I’m a little stuck. How did you secure the pack to the straps? I’m a little concerned the foam core base of the motherboard is not secure enough of a base to attach anything to without tearing.
