I love my 13 year old pack but it’s outdated, inaccurate and due to retire.

I’ve been out of the pack game for a while and have lost all track of price. What is the going rate for a screen accurate pack (in both looks and materials) going for?

I want it to be able to extend the tip, I want as much to be metal as was in the original, the electronics can be modern though. As close to the gb1 super hero as possible.

don’t need to be super detailed in your response but every detail helps.

Are you looking to assemble and detail it yourself or buy a fully complete pack with lights and sound (and possibly smoke)?

Have one built. But no sound or smoke.

If you’re talking screen accurate to a super hero and being built by someone else. Easily $3500.

Only way it will be cheaper is if someone has the ability make most of the parts themselves. I think a whole kit right now can run $1500 to $2000.

Honestly, it’s been so long since I have been up to date I expected that amount to have skyrocketed but that seems fair if not maybe a little low. But then what do I know? I had to ask the question in the first place.

Check out Mack’s factory website, though you have to jump on parts when they come in stock, for the most part are just bolt together. . . It is expensive, but the best parts you’re going to get.

I must admit I’ve considered them but have no experience with them. Was hoping for them to produce a full kit but I doubt that will happen anytime soon

Mack’s to my knowledge has only ever produced a full wand kit, not a full pack kit.

But as the (incredibly proud) owner of a Mack’s wand… they really are the best. Yes it will take you a while to collect all the parts, yes it will be expensive. But the experience of putting it all together is really well worth it imo.

If you’re truly averse to any and all DIY though, then Mack’s isn’t going to be for you (unless you want to commission someone to build it for you I guess).

Thanks for the advice. Mack’s continues to be tempting but I very much struggle with my hands in part due to medication I take. But good to know they are a worthwhile source for parts.

Easily one of the _best_ source for parts, yes. I’ve bought lots from Mack over the years and have been incredibly impressed every single time. Not to mention, awesome customer service.

I wish you the best of luck in your quest!

… Even if you commission someone to do your pack, you should still consider using Mack parts as your base.. The shell , [bumper](https://www.gbfans.com/wiki/equipment/proton-pack/bumper), [booster frame](https://www.gbfans.com/wiki/equipment/proton-pack/booster-frame) and wand. . The other parts, you can find good cheaper options. I think only Mack’s packs parts that haven’t been released yet are ppd and [injectors](https://www.gbfans.com/wiki/equipment/proton-pack/injectors) tubes.. Im trying to talk my self into the [booster tube](https://www.gbfans.com/wiki/equipment/proton-pack/booster-tube) kit, but it’s so pricey

The pack is no worse than a Lego set, but the wand with electronics ,dry rub and pop mech, definitely tedious.

If I go with Mack do you suggest all of their wand parts? Or just the body?

Id go with everything except the clippard valve. All the wand parts are engineered together. Probably not worth the headache to mix match parts to save a little money.. I did not order the kit, so I have yet to get the grips, but assume they will be decent

Id be more flexible with the pack parts

Since you can buy a real clippard, I haven’t bothered with Mack’s, but they’re probably fine. If it was cheaper and lighter I would consider it.

I guess for me it’ll come down to how much of a complete kit I can order from them if I plan to assemble it myself.

I believe Mack‘s clippard is cheaper, even if you buy direct. It should be lighter since it is completely hollow.
