# Custom Ecto-1 belt siren

Since I’m probably not going to be building an Ectomobile any time soon, I made this fun little box that clips onto my belt. The only thing it does when the switch is flipped is flash a blue light and play the [Ecto-1](https://www.gbfans.com/wiki/uncategorized/ecto-1) siren sound. I used parts intended for a model kit and some generic greeblies, plus a couple of enamel pins on the front. I have no idea what it would actually be in-universe – some kind of beeper? I just wanted something I can switch on to make the siren sound.

I used this kit: [ECTO 1 Siren - Realistic Ghostbusters sounds for for diecast Models](https://evandesigns.com/products/ghostbusters-ecto-siren?_pos=1&_sid=763f4bb15&_ss=r)

The speaker is plenty loud enough to not need grill holes in the box. The blue cap is from DigiKey, and the power toggle is an accurate one to a [Ghost Trap](https://www.gbfans.com/wiki/equipment/ghost-trap). This was sort of a practice project for learning soldering.
