this pack is great. love the inovation and imagination that went into it. Kinda reminds me of something that didnt work before they got it right in Extream GB. I too would like to see some traps, googles, etc.

Thanks! Wow, I’m really getting a following here. : ) I’m working on my son’s Transformer’s Bumblebee costume, but I’ll see if I can squeeze in my other stuff. My remodled PKE/Gigameter and Portable Ecto [containment unit](https://www.gbfans.com/wiki/equipment/containment-unit) are almost done, and I’ll be posting them in the near future.

Ha! What scale is that? I bet I could take that stuff and build a [proton pack](https://www.gbfans.com/wiki/equipment/proton-pack) (not necessarily a “canon”, official GB pack, but some kind of portable subatomic particle generator.) Judging by the sheen and the conglomeration of materials, I would say it was from a model kit or something. Thanks for the post! : )

The Burgh pack scares me. You know why?

because if I could suspend my belief and pretend that this pack was functional, it probably would turn red hot and take out a city block.

If someone came to my house to bust ghosts with that on their back I would pack up the woman and the cat and get the hell outta there

I have been following this post without comment and now I must make one.

After seeing the way this pack has morphed in so many ways from the beginning I can feel the creative process now. I admit that at first I was skeptical about the odd bits but perhaps it was necessary for the final stage to be unveiled much like a caterpillar and cocoon.

I say hats off to you sir, not just because you have crossed the streams as it were to create this pack but because after the bashing you have pressed on with a stead-fast attitude.

I say to the non-believers there is a REAL pack here. Under the rough exterior that is waiting a final pack shape I see a state-of-the-art, 21st century, nuclear accelerator that I would be proud to wear…so long as it’s not too heavy! 😛

Well, thanks! The great thing about this site? feedback! Bad thing about the site? People ask to see how to and step by step, then complain about how something looks before it’s finished. Oh, well. I tore it apart, and it will look a lot different. The “interior” parts are the same, but it will be more armored for day-to day operations. I may get a few hours on it tonight when my son goes to sleep.

If you can take Bo’s criticisms and still want to do props, you can handle anything : ) I got a little more work done today, but tomorrow is Easter, so I’ll be out and about all day. My son’s sleeping, but I need to get some shut-eye since Church is at 8:00!!! I’m hoping to have it ready for the Pittsburgh Comicon, but that’s the end of April, and we will be gone for 10 days visiting my sister. I may have to skimp on the light FX, but the sound FX system was done months ago. (I had a broken wire, and had to gut 80% of the pack. Maybe I’ll start a new thread or something?)

> Man…what a long, strange trip it’s been. For those of you who remember, I joined this site a little over a year ago and was obsessed with doing the impossible: putting together an accurate proton pack for no money. Needless to say, I didn’t quite...

You have no excuse as far as the being broke excuse goes dude. This guy did it for less than 70 bucks and his shit still looks far more presentable than what you did. By leaps and bounds.

I love Pittsburgh, so I won’t be as harsh as I could be, But dude, You seriously need to stop letting your little kid help you build props. Cause I know thats what you did. Instead of building something to be proud of, you decided to let your child dictate what would look cool on a [proton pack](https://www.gbfans.com/wiki/equipment/proton-pack) and you ended up with the ■■■■■■■ abortion you created. Instead of saying “oh, me and my kid made this.” you decided to just accept the piece of shit you made and make excuses for how god awful it looks. I know that’s what you did and you can’t lie about it. I’ve seen plenty of sorry prop ■■■■■ come and go in this community over 10 years, and none of them has built something HALF as terrible as what you made. But you let your kid help you build it, so it’s okay. Bullshit I say. If you want to raise that lil kid to be a GB fan you should teach him that things should be a certain way, instead of letting him hot glue the contents of your trash can onto a [motherboard](https://www.gbfans.com/wiki/equipment/proton-pack/motherboard) and calling it innovation. What you did sucks and someone needs to tell you straight about it.

BTW i’m 3 sheets to the wind.

Uhm, what videos? I did one for the Mac Pack, but I haven’t filmed the Burgh Pack (not done yet). Again, it’s a work in progress. I now have a plan for the “guts” of it, and I just have to cover it better. Some folks will still hate it, but, oh well. It’s like writing, painting, or any other artistic endeavor. I have listened to the critics (including Bo’s drunken rumblings), and I’m making some outward casing changes. I will stop prop building when life gets too busy, but I can squeeze it in now between chores, playing with my son, writing sci-fi short stories, and working a full time job. Might as well build while I can. : ) I’m just happy that it’s getting reactions. When you do a standard pack, people say “nice job” or "that’s the wrong part/angle/wrong size, etc.) They can’t do that with mine, so they either like it or hate it. I got some Mighty Putty, and that should help me anchor/blend in things.

he’s talking about Bo’s Nightsquad shows.

cdod22, Bo never claimed he had a show that was groundbreaking or anything special. He was just showing a chronicling of his life, however boring it may be at times. He isn’t attacking the guy, he’s just the only one saying the most about the fact that this pack looks like a film pack went nuclear. Now, if you’re going to start attacking someone attack me, and then go through the pages and attack everyone else who has said something poorly. You post on a prop board, you will get criticism, good and bad, and you will get insults. He already said he isn’t phased by it, so it’s pretty much constructive from here out. The only one who has done anything insulting is you, as you’re making personal attacks. GTFO of the thread.

Now to further the discussion instead of just making personal attacks: upon further reviewing of the pack, I realized I have never made a pack, only planned over the years, but that still makes this thing look all the more cluttered, messy, and a little bit disturbing.

I respect your opinion on the matter lord vego. I was not attacking anyone, just giving my opinion such as everyone else does. And to say that Bo was’nt personally attackin him is a crock! The moment he through in Bradboss’s kid in it became personal. And i’m well aware that if i post on a prop board i will have some critics. Which brings me to the point of that fact that i’m doing no different. And your the one giving the “thats not right” speech. Take some of your own advice.

Bo has been rather conservative with me. He’s said some really disturbing things to posters on the ID card thread. Bo is Bo. As long as AJ lets him post, he will. This board is very lenient. I belong to boards that won’t allow swearing!! Someone said about the pack going from a worm to a butterfly (or something like that), and, it is evolving. It’s like going to someone sculpting in marble. They have a few chunks out of the block, and the people say. “What is that? That doesn’t look like a person. What a piece of crap!” Make up your mind. If you don’t want to see the process, and only the finished product (or, maybe finished stage of the product) you will save me time uploading pictures that don’t really show anything other than what parts I used, and how far along I am. As for Bo’s post, he is incorrect. The Burgh pack is 100% my doing, like it or hate it. I work on it when my son is asleep, since he wants to play Monster Trucks or Transformers. The magic of prop building faded last year for him. If anything, he gets mad when I work on the pack, because I’m not playing with him. So, blame me, Bo. My son’s not in the mix (other than I have less time to work on it because I need to spend time with him.) Thanks for the comments! I hope to post more pictures for you all to complain about soon. : )
