Here it is for anyone that doesn’t want to go on twitter.

Certainly an interesting concept. A lot of people have pointed out how much it seems likely the RGB color scheme took inspiration from this. The logo appears to be a very rough sketch of Casper in his standard flying pose in the No Circle.

I think you can see that unused logo in Making Ghostbusters? Or some concepts close to it. Or was it Cinefex… something. Cleanin’ Up The Town doc? I know Harvey tried suing them for $50 mill back in the day.

The one in the shield and the one like it have a lot of Casper in their visual style. I believe there was a full spread in the Visual History, my copy is in a box right now so I can’t check. There were also some in the little book that came with the green slime DVD.

They got sued after release by Harvey for the logo having similarities to Fatso. It definitely shares some of that visual language but it was dropped a few years later. They apparently wanted all copies of the film destroyed on top of a big payday.

Yup, it was in the movie scrapbook that came with the '05 DVD set. Ultimate Visual History had some like the GB shield and ghost nailed to the letters.

It’s a special day when new Daveikis concept art surfaces!

As for the logo, it’s written as Casper in the script, which probably didn’t help in the litigation with Harvey. There’s another Daveikis concept with a closer look at the logo, but it was “blacked out” before being published in Making Ghostbusters in 85. The same image was later included in the Criterion laserdisc release from 1989.

I don’t have any sort of confirmation, but I believe some of the other logos not based on the prohibition circle description were being designed by R/GA. It’s possible the single ghost figures could’ve been alternates by Michael Gross.
