# dye question...

to get the elbow pads grey, can i dye them w/ black either dilluted or for a shorter period of time? also, what color is the belt supposed to be? thanks

I’ve heard of doing that. However I used the RIT Pearl Grey Powder dye for my stuff. I could only find it on ebay. I got 6 packets for 3 bucks. I used 2 packets and dyed my pads and belt at the same time and I think they turned out pretty good. However the instructions say to put salt in the mix and the metal on my belt started to rust. I didn’t even think about it while I as doing it. Oh well gives it that used look.

I tried dying my elbow pads with pearl grey twice and didn’t like the results. So I turned to spray paint. I think they turned out fine. To look at them up close, you wouldn’t even know they were spray painted.
