So, I realize how much more accessible Ecto 1 is, but I was curious to know how much is known (mainly the rack/ights etc…) about 1A. I’ve looked at many pics but is the some resource similar to theecto1.com? I realize that it’s probably not a site, but has anyone cataloged the equipment on the car? As I’m looking to build my tribute Ecto 1 and 1A I’d like to get about 80-90% screen accurate racks. Thanks for your help in advance!
Ive asked this question on theecto1.com before. I know there is a site theecto1a.com. i believe its a site made by someone who has a replica. As far as an accurate parts list… not a clue. My ertl ecto-1a model names most of the pieces but i wouldnt go by that. Good luck to you! Im intrested to hear more about it
I’ve seen the Ecto-1a in person and was shocked to see that 9 out of 10 things on that roof rack was on Ecto-1. Its just painted a diffrent color. However you do of course have many items on 1a thats not on Ecto-1 but its not many.
I figured there’d be some similarities but wasn’t sure how many. I was gonna fabricate a bunch of stuff on my own from the pics, but parts like the amber beacon and the different strobes on the bumper, the model of all the light bars (I know the flat one is a whelen and the the other two are code 3 but that’s about it). Also where a source for the reflective tape blah blah blah…maybe I just need to do more research.
What cars are you going to be using for your tributes?
Wow, thats awesome!!! I found my reflective tape on ebay for like $8 a roll. It took about 2 rolls but you may need more for the caddy. A buddy of mine showed me the website for the 5 ft scrolling leds…ill have to ask him what it was again but i think i saw they were around $5000 a piece…
