harold has said egon has moved past the pyshical plane of reality and almost on an entirely ethereal plane? so egon is dead? or did one of his experiments make him a ghost? i certainly hope not ---

What? Is this that “[Harold Ramis](https://www.gbfans.com/wiki/people/harold-ramis) reveals Egon’s fate” thing? If so, that’s for [Ghostbusters 3](https://www.gbfans.com/wiki/ghostbusters-3), not the game. I will move the topic to GB3 if that is what you’re referring to. ---

maybe in a cerebral way? Maybe he’s saying that Egon is too into science and he not live a normal life… you know, in GB1 Janine was flerting with him and he answered “I collect molds…etc etc”. ---

He stated that he didn’t like how Egon “lightened up” in the Second movie, So maybe the fate of Egon is Simply, Egon going back to the way he was in the first movie? Eh? No Idea. ---

I think it means in a symbolic sense, Egon has stopped caring about the physical plane and puts forth all his efforts toward the ethereal one. As in he’s become obsessed with it. That’s the only explanation I could come with without him being dead. ---

maybe in GB3 he’s trapped in one of the other dimensions… Dan said that the writing duo brought videogame’s elements in the script… Maybe Egon is working with one of the portals and he’s sucked in another realm! ---

There was a [Real Ghostbusters](https://www.gbfans.com/wiki/games/the-real-ghostbusters-activison) with an eerily similar plot line entitled, " Egon’s Rampage." Wouldn’t it be strange/interesting if Egon dies but his spirit remains to train the new recruits? It would turn out to be like a RGB or XGB in movie form. He would be the mentor… in spirit form… just like he was the mentor (flesh & blood) in the cartoons. ---

Why does it mean he has to die? Can’t he just evolve his conciousness(spelling?) beyond the physical need for a body? Or astral projection maybe? After all, we know Winston :whatever: believes in that stuff. ---

And it’s usually Harold we relied on to bring things down to Earth. :sigh: I imagine, should Ghostbusters III go ahead and he appears in it (and dear God I hope he tries to slim down a little), he’ll be his normal, physical plane self and he won’t wind up dying or evolving. ---

All I know is the nice thing about GB’s in no one needs to die to make the movies great, and they tried to keep it scientific (for the most part) or atleast as grounded to reality as possible.
