Everyone seems to say that 1/2 " is the correct diameter for the yellow [leg hose](https://www.gbfans.com/wiki/equipment/uniform/yellow-hose), but is that referring to the inner diameter or the outer diameter? I’ve seen clear vinyl tubes at home depot with an outer diameter of 1/2 ", and to be honest they look a bit too thin. To my eyes, the ones that look like the right size have 1/2 " INNER diameter and a 5/8 " OUTER diameter. Does anyone know for sure what the correct size is? ---

I use 1/2" OD and 3/8" ID. ---

Another reason I think the hose might be thicker than 1/2 " is that both [Dan Aykroyd](https://www.gbfans.com/wiki/people/dan-aykroyd) and [Bill Murray](https://www.gbfans.com/wiki/people/bill-murray) are over 6 ft. tall. They are big dudes, and the hose might look smaller because of that. I know those motorola radios look tiny on those guys, and those arent small. Now, they could very well be 1/2 " thick. It’s impossible to tell for sure. I just want to know what everyone else thinks about it. ---

It’s not impossible to tell for sure because they can easily be measured via interpolation with known objects from the film. Trust me, they are 1/2" OD. I’ve confirmed the calculations. The ID can be different, seeing as some people might not want to carry such heavy tube on their suits, but with thinner and thinner ID comes a higher cost. Standard tubing like this can be purchased from the GB Store on this site for a decent price. Brock phantom50 ---

Noob question - is the [leg hose](https://www.gbfans.com/wiki/equipment/uniform/yellow-hose) meant to be clear but slightly yellowy tinted plastic, or is it solid yellow? ---

It is translucent yellow (clear with yellow tint). ---

Well, I was going to ask which connector hose size is correct since I got a thick hose when I ordered the rubber connector and got a thinner hose when I received my resin connector + hose from MMM. So the thicker 1/2 inch hose is the correct one. Now, I just need to make a belt loop connector on the thicker hose like was already made onto the end of my thinner hose sent by MMM.
