A few friends and I recently decided to build some Ghostubusters costumes for Halloween 2012. We decided to start on the thrower. It’s probably one of the more complicated parts to build since the majority of the parts are custom made.
Certainly off to a good start! Glad to see you’re taking your time and not rushing it for this year.

We are working with the help of some very good people from the boards here. Without the help, we’d be making drawings from photo reference trying to determine scale. I’m machining parts to get the prototype thrower complete so we can move to the mechanism inside for the spring loaded tube.
Came for the awesome aluminum throwers, stayed for the awesome aluminum throwers.

I just found a ton of these in our electronics room. Are these the correct lamps and lenses?
Hard to tell scale with that picture but no, they’re not right. Depending on how big they are they might be a viable alternative for the slow-blo light though.

Tonight’s agenda…
I’m making the trigger box things and mounting them. Welding the trigger to the ring thing. Welding in the top knob on the body. Attaching the palm rest things, etc. Gotta turn up the acrylic tube tonight too.
