Pardon my mistake. Things get around. Stop being a jackass.
Is that how you address THE KING?

FTFY
Oh look! Another needless thread that never needed to exist (and should be locked up ASAP).
Stop moderating the internet, Ben. It’s not worth it. Find something else to do, please.
LOCK IT! LOCK IT! LOCK IT UP!
Hey Foos, Give Uni my regards.

As of late Adam, you really don’t have any right to tell me what I should and shouldn’t be doing.
Kevin, it’s stuff like this that led to this topic being created in the first place.
I just heard about EU being banned, and was saddened by the news. When I first joined, he was one of the few people who was encouraging me to follow my build methods, when at times I considered giving up.
Yeah, he posts OT BS posts, but AJ was actually complaining 6 months or so ago, asking why people didn’t discuss OT stuff in the forums here more often.
Other sites with the same issues, created a “chicken coop” forum with an adult disclaimer for all the crap posts, and just moved any threads that belonged there into it, letting people post whever they wanted to there. It became a cesspool, and attracted of course, the bottom feeders. Eventually they finally got rid of them, and just used two warnings, and then the 3rd time the ban hammer more often.
Basically you have two choices: more work for the moderators, or a place where people who want to troll and bicker with each other can do so freely, which will keep the rest of the forum clear.
Personally, I rarely if ever get into a serious discussion about anything controversial here, because IMHO its alwyas just a online baiting/pissing match anyway.
Also, I think that people who are about to be banned do need an official warning that they need to reply to, so they can acknowledge that they DO understand that they have crossed boundries they should not have crossed.
As a cross check, it also needs to be confirmed more then one mod as well.
Thing is, people can hide behind a computer monitor of the web, and say and do things they would never do in real life. Thats just human nature, and policies need to be put in place to deal with it.
I can easily think of a few people here that do nothing but constantly fan fires here, or try to create controversy and thrive on disharmony that shoulda been perm ban hammered long ago. The way I look at it, people are either a benefit to the community here, or a hindrance, and the dead weight should be let go of.
Really? Because the rest of your post would seem to disagree with your opinion on EU being banned.
Yep. To build as a community, not tear us apart in arguements.
Such processes do occur. They do not have to though as outlined by the GBFans Rules.
Exactly the reason why EU and PC were banned for a length of time.
I say we just hotlink the “General Discussion” to /b/. Problem solved.
Not really worth arguing with you about, AJ. You guys do whatever you choose running the site, and its my choice to accept it or not, regardless if I agree with it or not.
This isn’t the first time, however I’ve heard from someone with issues here, and they had little of no communication about the issue until something happened to them here. I’m sure it also won’t be the last, either.
Are there clique groups here? Of course there are, like everywhere else. There are people hell bent on causing issues, and other people more concerned in the community, of which I am a part of. And its only natural for people to band together supporting thier community when there are others doing thier daily level best to tear it down.
My opinion of EU isn’t really about the OT general forum posts, because I rarely if ever read or participate in them. I’m here for the GB community.. the other stuff is just background noise IMHO.
