Ghostbusters II Deleted Scenes…please tell me this is true,over excitement is a understatement

Darn those economic realities! Oh well… I will still go and have fun. On the bright side, it’s still higher quality than you can get at home.
It’s about damn time! Haha! Stoked that Sony stepped up and are including some deleted scenes. I really hope that they include the deleted scenes that we want to see and not just alternate takes or extended scenes. I really wish they would include the Fort Detmerring and Louis vs. the gang bangers scenes to the Ghostbusters blu-ray. I’d love to see those but i’m not holding my breath. If this set didn’t include GBII, I wouldn’t double dip unless they found some magical way to make it look better than the 4K. Overall, i’m glad that it’s finally getting a blu-ray release.
Not that I’m complaining, but I gotta say, Troy’s wish list was a little cooler.

I really wish we would have had more from the first film, especially considering the scanned HD raw footage that leaked. Give us Fort Detmerring! Aykroyd’s original script would have been killer!

$100 for this set? Man, that’s steep.
I’m guessing that’s for the box set with the Slimer and logo. The digibook will probably be cheaper.
So far that’s the only version I’ve seen of the set.
If they’re going to release one without the statue that’s good though.
Ugh who is the design team in charge of the Ghostbusters releases, because they really suck at their job.

The blue background with blinding light looks like it was meant for toothpaste packaging, and the logo appears to be having a stroke as it attempts to flash gang signs.
Looks like now’s the perfect time to buy Blu Ray Editions for these movies, I refused to buy the First Film on Blu Ray until the 2nd one came out as well. I waited because I knew that the First Film would get a new edition as soon as the 2nd one came out, I’m still using the 1999 DVD editions for both films.
I wish the trailers for the 2 films would be included as bonus features, they haven’t been part of the Special Features list since the 1999 editions. That’s another reason I still have those editions, and will still keep them even after I get the Blu Rays.

Very exciting! I wonder if the first film will be the 4k transfer? I never did upgrade from the original blu ray.
It will at least be a 4K transfer. We won’t know if its the same one until it is released though.
3D would be nice. While it’s not like the theater & BD 3D I have one of those LG TV’s with the 2D to 3D feature and both films look good that way.
I am excited for this release and I will get the 1&2 Digibook since I didn’t get the 4K disc. I read both are 4K so if it’s like the TT Christine BD’s PQ it will be great.
Why are we not talking more about the GBII deleted scenes?

… It’s not a new “director’s cut,” but damn!! We may finally get to see the possessed Ecto sequence and hopefully get a clearer picture of the film that GBII COULD have been if it’d been allowed to be.
Tell me that’s not a joyous announcement.

Can I take a moment to express how much I dislike that new logo?
It looks so unnatural and contorted! Who designed that monstrosity?! It’s almost like the little guy is trying to twerk!
I don’t like the idea of doing a logo with two of the “peace-sign” hands, but if you’re gonna do it, at least make it look normal, and not like some car-dealership dancing lawn ornament, folded over on itself, arms in the air.
Keep it simple. Keep it classy, and try not to modify it more than you have to, unless you want to make a new image, entirely.
