Well, I have a friend that teaches Earth Science at a middle school in Brooklyn. I texted him just now and he said that he’s gonna go to one of the Game Champ’s nearby after he gets out and if they have it, he’ll buy it for me. I all ready had plans to go to Long Island and visit him and another friend (we went to college together). So with any luck, I’ll be playing the game tomorrow! If that’s the case, I guess I’ll just hawk my Gamestop copy on ebay. ---

if i knew i could pick it up, i’d be very tempted to drive there (i live more than 4 hours away)…ugh the lengths i would go ---

If you know someplace around there has it for sure & you’re that anxious to get it early …why not? a 4 hour drive to get the game a few days early?! Personally I can wait, but that’s just me. Yes. If you’re driving a total of 8 hours, definately call them and have them hold one for you; you’d be pretty disappointed if you showed up and they just sold the last one minutes before your arrival. ---

Exactly! 8 hours is a lot of time to be driving just to arrive and find out the limited number of copies they had are gone. I’d definitely see if they’d let you pay for it or put down a CC reserve over the phone before driving all that way. Personally, if it were 4 hours both ways then i’d totally go for it… But 8 hours total is a long time to be driving. Granted, you’ll have the game to play over the weekend and enjoy it fully… but I can’t stand driving for amounts of time longer than about 4 hours… so 8 hours total would be a nightmare for me. lol ---

ok so i called the place back to reserve it and someone else answered and said they were expecting the shipment but that it was not yet in…sorta shady…think i;m gonna wait. my local gamestop is doing a midnight release anyway which is cool i was ready to drive out there tho ---

You would be an idiot if you believed you could take everything posted online at face value. Just because someone says “Oh i got the game early” and shows a pretty picture of a supposed GB game case doesn’t mean they are telling the truth. People these days seem to “get off” on posting false information for the sake of drawing attention to themselves and securing those “bragging rights” that kingpin mentioned. You can’t believe everything you read. Now… if you continue not to believe when there is proof to show otherwise… then it’s going too far, but anyone in this thread who was skeptical is now a believer based on the proof provided. (mainly his xbox live profile that shows he’s played the game & he’s already got a few achievements.) I get that. It’s important to be skeptical when reading what people claim on the internet but in this particular instance i didn’t think it was that suspicious. People may say anything online to draw attention to themselves but i like to think that the GBfans user base is mature enough to not jump up and down crying wolf. (most of the users anyway) I just didn’t think it was difficult to believe because we’re coming up to the week of release and it’s safe to say the game IS out there by now. I don’t know maybe I’m too trusting. If this guy had posted this a week ago I would’ve called him a filthy liar but at this point it’s surely out there for Ghostheads who are willing to hunt for it. Plus that first shot of the box was IMO clearly the real thing. Again maybe I’m too trusting.. ---

Blockbuster usually puts some of their new game releases out on the Friday prior to the Tuesday Release date. I’m gonna call my blockbuster right now. Update: I just called and they said not til the 16th. At this point, I’m kinda set on giving up on finding an early release and just wait til the 16th. ---

Technically, I didn’t break the street date, I just bought it from a store that did. Still, I’m really bummed. Today or on the 16th, my system would have given out on me either way. ---
