Yeah the price sucks. But it’s a release of something we’ve only seen photos of, I feel compelled to get it. Maybe next we will get Egon‘s Lab!

Ok, so they updated the Glow Copter page on Hasbro Pulse. Here’s the timeline of availability online:
-Available online for Pulse Premium Members only on 8/10/26 at 1 PM EDT.
-Non-premium orders open 8/11/26 at 1 PM EDT.

Interesting that they are waiting a whole day for non-premiem members. Previously with GB releases, it was just an hour or so.
That’s how it was yesterday for the 40th Anniversary 2-pack. Available to Premium members an hour before. I foolishly set an alarm for 7:50am to make sure I got my Glow Copter at 8am (when we all thought it was going on sale) and discovered the 2 pack five minutes after 8am. It was locked for premium and unlocked at 12 ET/9am PST.
If you pay the $50 for the membership to get it a day earlier, you’ll be paying the same price that scalpers have it priced for on eBay currently. So, there’s that. However, I am using the 4-pack from last year as an estimate of how it will all go down. I don’t think it will sell out. If it does sells out that first day, I would be very surprised but also super ■■■■■■ off. Fingers crossed for the fans!

True, but if it sells out, I bet they will do a restock. So far, all the Ecto Glows have been sold out and restocked. Only recently has the 4 pack been listed as sold out with no current restock.
Worth noting that the Ecto Glow 4-Pack is part of the Hasbro Plus Power Days sale.

That seems pointless. If it’s sold out and there’s no restock, why include it? Even if it were in stock, isn’t it supposed to be on sale/discounted? Either it is the original price or it’s gone up $10. Wasn’t it originally $79.99?
Yes, about a year ago when the Ecto Glow Heroes pack was restocked on Hasbro Pulse, the price was still $79.99. It appears they raised it at some point this year. Wow, Hasbro. Just wow.
Yeah, I think it was around the holidays when the price jumped up. I suspect it was a tariff thing.
The Ecto-Glow Copter has officially gone on sale during the next 24 hours for premium members. Conveniently the Louis/Janine 40th Anniversary 2 pack shows that it has sold out. My plan was to cancel my pre-order and re-order to combine these two to get free shipping. Guess this now works on Hasbro’s favor. I have a sneaky feeling those 2 packs will go back up for pre-order after this Glow Copter sells out. What’s the point of a pre-order anyways? Wasn’t the original intention to gauge how many units of a product needed to be manufactured in order to meet the consumer demand? Either way, I hope everyone who wants one of these gets one.
On another note, anyone who bought the Ecto-Glow Slimer/Stay Puft 2 pack or the 84 packs, has yours shipped but has been sitting in Georgia for the past week? FedEx seems to have a huge logistics issue with Hasbro fulfillment. They say its due to weather but that seems highly unlikely. Have a chat with FedEx and they’ll say the shipments are lost. Which I also don’t believe. Anyone experiencing anything like this with their Hasbro orders?
I wouldn’t worry too much about it. I suspect, like the figures and the other EctoGlow stuff, it’ll go out of stock, but then come back for a period of time. Same with the 2 pack. I bet you can still do the free shipping if you are willing to wait it out a bit. That’s what I did with the Ecto 1 and Classic Ghosts.
Sorry you are having shipping issues. Of the few things I ordered from Hasbro, I haven’t had that issue.
Still stock left after 2 hours so I doubt it will be sold out by tomorrow. It just doesn’t seem like the GB stuff is moving, we can throw the blame wherever but it is a bummer.
For me, with the '84 pack a few months ago, mine sat in Georgia for 4 days then shipped and came to me in 2 days. I believe I was part of the first set of orders shipped. As those whose shipped later, in a second batch, reported waiting a week or so for theirs to ship and leave Georgia. They used to ship from Illinois and that was really fast then. Now with Georgia it takes 4-8 days to leave that state once you get your shipping notification more or less.

Mondo is eating Hasbro sales. They get a cut so I’m sure on one level they’re fine with it, but when we were starved of GB merch I would’ve bought all of this EG capsule. Now… I think about space and quality versus the Mondo line. And I need to save up resource for the Mondo line.

Hasbro products are not really limited quantity. They try to massage FOMO by taking turns to put the RGB products out of stock in different regions, but it’s clear there was plenty of Ecto Glow stock. I don’t know how that will impact the Louis copter but as I maybe said previously - these are toy enthusiast collectors items, not necessarily desirable outside of that. The Louis copter kind of sucks, but if you tell us it’s actually scarce, like only 1000 produced, then it becomes a desirable proposition and fans drops serious money on. This sort of happened with The Family That Busts Together set - GBNews leaked it was super limited - and it sold out but several years later it did not really increase in value. Although maybe this is me being impatient and not understanding how the toy industry and collecting works.

The recent RGB Kenner stuff is… low effort. Now that’s not to say I don’t think the Pat guy is doing a solid job. But it’s also not quite enough imo. The repaints/recolours are great, the new artwork is authentic and thought is clearly being put in.. but reusing ghosts, repeating models and characters, massively overcharging for cheap monster-in-my-pocket figures. I’m glad this stuff exists, but it’s an easy pass when it’s a choice between this and Mondo. I mean the full Ecto-Plazm set is nearly the price of a single Mondo figure. Oddly the most appealing part of the Louis Copter set is the glowing sausage ghost, just because it’s a unique figure in the reissued toys.
Once the Mondo line ends, and we know how rare the Ecto Glow range actually was, and can afford it… it will of course be too late to pick any of the sets up beyond the second hand market. This is also frustrating to me. At least the Mondo stuff is up front about the limited availability and it will maintain value. I’m not confident the Louis Copter or Ecto-1 EG will. But they’re also not cheap enough for me to buy as a spontaneous frivolous purchase and unpack, display etc. the Louis copter is maybe 3x the amount I’d be willing to pay for it, the Ghosts & Ecto twice as much- but unlike Mondo these are not premium figures, y’know? I can even see a world where the Copter tanks in value.
So that’s my two cents on why Hasbro’s RGB offerings aren’t moving fast. If any of them make it to the 50% off sale, I’d snap em up.

You make a good point and I think it’s pretty much Hasbro trying to figure out what they can still do with the license while they have it and how to stretch their profit margin. I think they’re in a tough spot where they need to produce something but at the lowest cost possible. We know that the line sort of took a dive at retail, so it’s a good guess in saying that they probably don’t have the same budget they had when they started. Reissuing Kenner molds with new paint is easier than putting out a Garraka figure in the Plasma series line or giving us characters like Vigo or Janine. It is lazy but it’s them making maximum profit for minimal effort.The Hasbro stuff is way overpriced for what it is. After I placed my order for the Tully/Glow Copter, my final total was close to $85. Really? I get that it’s a niche product, but it’s getting harder for me to throw down that kind of money for an “adult collectible”. Especially when I can compare it to a more grandiose retail offering from another toy line that is sold for 1/4 of the price tag. Last year, Playmates released a TMNT Toilet Taxi that came with an exclusive Donatello and it retailed for around $20 (I think it was less?). It’s almost basically the same type of offering, but the Taxi itself uses more paint, plastic, stickers, etc. but somehow it’s price nowhere near the Glow Copter. I get that it’s retail and Playmates probably produced way more of those over a con exclusive, etc. but most of this stuff all gets produced in the same factories in China. I think a lot of the time we get duped on the prices when just adding the tagline “adult collectible” gives these companies the excuse to tack on the extra dollars.
I am hoping that this is the end of Hasbro doing Kenner Real Ghostbusters for these type of reasons. I love collecting but the thing that makes it hard to keep buying these are the high prices. Especially when looking at my shelf and seeing the Mondo line next to it. The Mondo line is literally a dream come true. I also think they’re overpriced but these are night and day compared to anything i’ve ever bought from companies like Hasbro, Mattel and even Super 7 (which are the kings of overpricing). The Mondo line is almost practically flawless, so the price is almost justified but I still compare it to what the Diamond Select price points were at retail. I know they’re still very different but I guess I am comparing what the costs might be for materials and if they are that much different from each other in price to manufacture them. I used to work for a retail outlet and saw what the productions costs were for some of the stuff we sold. The most F-U price was a $500 chair that only cost that company $35 to make. I know that we’re there already with some of these niche collector lines. I definitely want to say that applies with these recent Hasbro offerings. Escpecially those Ectoplasm cans that nobody wanted.
