What exactly does a pke meter detect? I think the giga meter detects radiation, what does the pke detect? I have an emf it tracks electro magnetic feilds. Spirits can travel through dimensions with emfs. What does pke stand for?

As for a prop PKE if you are not willing to purchase one from a fellow individual on a forum then you are probably out of luck… These are bootleg props and you won’t find them in stores… Maybe try Ebay…
BTW it only takes a person a few minutes to set up an Internet store, just because they have a fancy website and Internet store doesn’t make them any more legit then the next guy…
Also if you are looking for a built up one are you willing to pay the price? A built up one with electronics will cost a small fortune $400+
Hey Exoray, i think 7servant is actually taking this more on the serious side. He likes to hunt spirits, which I like to do as well, and actually thinks the PKE meter is useful in such hunts.
i was wondering if they got the idea from a real tool. A tool that actually does detect kinetic energy. If there is a real tool that can detect kinetic energy that would be very helpful in ghost hunting but im aware that all im probably gonna find is props. I know the giga meter is a real tool that can be ordered all over the internet.
Sorry, 7servant, the movies were entirely fictional. The PKE meter and the Gigameter are simply props made to look pretty cool. What you can order online is the Geiger counter, wich does in fact detect radiation levels, which can sometimes be of assistance on these hunts. Hope that clears some stuff up for ya
It’s likely that Dan Aykroyd based the idea of the PKE Meter on an EMF meter, not designed to track ghosts as no common energy signature has ever been recorded… but designed to track fluctuations in electromagnetic fields and of course, the tool is the staple of the modern paranormal investigator.
That is quite possible, Kingpin. However, it is equally as likely that Aykroyd simply said “hey, that sounds cool.”
Couldn’t have said it better myself. That’s why I love my Trifield Natural EM Meter though. Bill at Alpha labs can really build em’! Aykroyd’s son in into paranormal research as well. As most of you know, Aykroyd himself likes paranormal research but also focus on UFO research, which is something I’m not into and try to keep as separate as humanly possible. Especially when dealing with the public.
One thing I would like to mention, I hate the term “Ghost Hunter”. Are you really out “Hunting” anything?..No. Or atleast the people I know, work with, and myself aren’t. I wish more was publicly focused on the research end. Just me venting…sorry, it’s just I’ve had to deal with these types of things for over 10 years…lol

Well it helps that Aykroyd has moved to the Niagara region in Ontario - at least thats one of his homes. The area is full of old buildings and has too many ‘sightings’ and ‘haunted structures’ to name.
I am fortunate to drive by his vine fields and house every day to and from work… No weird equipment or errant particle streams coming from the property - yet.

Magickman - I am interested in paranormal studies. I’ve gone on one search around the Binghamton University campus when John Zaffis came and visited the school. I’ve planned another outing sometime this fall into PA. I, unfortunately, live in a relatively low-level haunted area, so I can only pull off a decent search when not home. Furthermore, I don’t work with any groups, and have been interested in the supernatural – all aspects of it, not just spirits – for at least 8 years.
I’ve done a bit, though not very seriously. I once had a friend who thought he photographed a ghost in the upstairs portion of his mom’s business (the building was connected via the upstairs to every other building on the town square because they used to run together as shops and apartments back during the gas boom at the turn of the century).
We tried recording something, but didn’t really get anything. Luckily there was an old dusty abandoned piano up there, so I got to play the two high keys and say “they hate that.”
That’s cool guys. I’m actually in the process of starting a new organization in my area. I posted about it on Proptopia. Keep me informed as to any investigations you do and if you get any results. Daecrist, what are you trying to record, video or audio? And what were you using? Do you still have the pictue your friend took, I would be interested in seeing it if so.
