Hi- I’m from New England, USA, and my handle’s “Smoot”. I’ve been a fan since I saw the first movie. I enjoyed [the Real Ghostbusters](https://www.gbfans.com/wiki/games/the-real-ghostbusters-activison) series, as well. What brought me back ‘into the fold’ though, was that someone on [rpol.com](http://rpol.com) (RolePlay Online) ran a Ghostbusters RPG game. It didn’t last long, but I enjoyed the bejezus out of it. I’m a fairly-varied movie enthusiast, and I like to read RL history (which can be weirder than most fiction, if you’re looking in the right place!). Some of my friends call me ‘omnigeek’, because I take an interest in a LOT of odd topics. (I’m not expert in most of them, but I know when I don’t know, you know? 🙂 ) When I see ‘RPG’ I still think of what the youngin’s call “tabletop” or “pen and paper”. I like Unisystem, GURPS, oWoD, and Hero System best, but I’m flexible. I play computer games, but I’m not ‘■■■■■■■■’ whatever that means. I just finished with Portal and (I’m playing catchup here), I’m going to be starting HalfLife 2, soon. Mostly, I do strategic games (EE2, Civ 4, etc). I guess there’s more, but we’ll have to find out as we go. 🙂 ---

Well, I don’t really understand most of what you just said there, but welcome to the fold. Ghostbusters RPG, huh? That sounds like a lot of fun. So, how’d it go? ---

I’m not just being told to _say_ it.” [They just said they’d been told that three months running, and the shutoff is still coming.] “Ah. Then, can I ask a small favor, intern to employee? You know how there’s paperwork for everything? Well, if things get shut down here, I’m going to have a TON to do- so could you wait until Friday, please? See, I can start the paperwork NOW, but if you shut everything off _now_, there’s going to be this chain-reaction that will vaporize my desk and everything_\* on\*_ it. Including my hard-drive and printer. And, most of the block.” “So the paperwork’s kinda trashed, then.” “Yeah, Friday would be great. Thank you.” ---

I like how they did in Return of the Ghostbusters. They digitized the ghosts and used them as a power source. ---

RPG, eh? Yeah, I still play on occasion with my buds (It’s tough now, since some of my friends and I are married with children (Peg, Peg, tell Bud to get out of the bathroom) When I say “Roleplaying” at work, my boss kids me since she reads the “adult personals” for fun, and that a different kind of “roleplaying” : ) We play Call to Cthulu, pulp Indiana Jones, but it is like GB’s since we hunt the supernatural.
