In December of 2004 a mass communications class at my college took a field trip to Huntsville, Alabama. On the way down and on the way back we passed a building out by the highway with replicas of the ECTO-1 and 1A parked in front. I wasn’t fast enough with my camera phone to get any pictures, but the cars both looked pretty accurate.
Does anybody in the Huntsville area know who’s Ectos these were or have any more info on them? I’ve been curious ever since I saw them.
My family is from Alabama,so I may be able to get one of em to rid up to Huntsville.
Do you know what highway it was beside cause that would help alot.
I wish I could remember but it’s been nearly 2 years. They had been parked very conspicuously to draw attention to someone’s business. It’s not a big deal if I can’t track them down, I was just curious to see if they belonged to anyone here.
I live in Florence, AL and frequent Huntsville. I’m pretty sure that the vehicles you saw were owned by the business “Jailbusters”. A bail bondsman rides around in those. There is also one of them in Florence.

(To those interested, click on each of the counties to see the different cars they have.) I’m pretty sure that’s not what I saw, but it’s still an interesting coincidence. To the best of my memory, the cars I saw that day were near-exact replicas of the Ghostbusters’ wheels. If the car looked as different as these do, I think I would’ve remembered…but then, my memory isn’t always the best.
im from huntsville…the thing is it is only the ecto 1a that they ave that i know of…i never saw a ecto1…it is owned by a company called jailbsters…they have a bunch of old ambulances with there own logo on it with a criminal or whatever behind the red circle…they said they bought it from universal in orlando and also tried to tell me it was used in the movie…im not sure what year it is but it is in pretty bad shap …they said they were gonna restore it (but still keeping it an ecto-1a replica)…its been overr there for about 3 years now almost …ive been meaning to go take pics of it but i have absolutely no way of posting them though…i have a few pics from when they first got it but i dont know where they are…
The Ecto-1 was Seans, and was parked next to a drive-in or ice cream parlor to promote it.

Well.. all I remember was it was somewhere.. I don’t remember what state.. although I thought it was more North than Alabama.
