I finally washed my uniform after it sitting in my room after halloween, and when I looked at it again dried, my GB2 patch was peeling off around the head and the two fingers. I have the iron-on version, so can it be fixed if I just iron the damn thing back on? Is this common with GB2 patches? Can it be sewn? Or am I just screwed lol.

you could try some Fabri Tac

I used it on the finger of my no ghost patch and haven’t had any problems after washing it

Your problem is that you washed it. That’s not accurate. To my knowledge you never see the ghostbusters wash their suit. Its assumed they throw them away. Ill have to read the novel and get back to you.

Probably best if you just sew it on; that way it’s both durable and screen-accurate.

I’'ll try Fabri Tac before I try to get my girlfriend to sew on the peeling parts. Can somebody please explain to me the differences in the iron on patch and sew on besides the obvious? Do they look any different? I ask because I’m going to get an alternate uniform down the road.

And lol, I had to wash the uniform, you go dancing at club, get alcohol on your suit, then go to waffle house after. You’ll come home smelling of sweat, tequila, and maple syrup 🙂

I haven’t washed my jumpsuit in about 5 years, but I do wear a full set of clothes under it. My patches are just tipped on (very lightly sewn at the corners and a few stitches in the circumferance) so I can remove them easily for washing.

Sewing on is much more secure and totally reversible, but more difficult.

Ironing on isn’t so secure and leaves permanent damage on the suit if it needs to be removed, but it’s easier.

I sew mine on and wash them with the suit; never had a problem.

Same here. Mine are sewed on and washing doesnt seem to bother them.

I personally do both. I find where i want the patch and then Iron it on. Once that is set i very finely sew a few stitches here and there to be 100% sure that the patch isnt comming off. I learned that trick in boy scouts.

i ironed and sewed one on. The sewing is a pain with the thick patch, it took forever. If i do it again i think ill pay to have a professional do it

I do the same. Iron it on in the right place and then sew around the borderline to make sure it’s on there forever!

Iron on has a fabric glue slathered on the back, sew on does not.
