Today was the first time I tried everything on. Found a major problem- I’m too short.
Since the pack is so big, it covers most of my utility belt, and I can’t wear everything I want to. I don’t have a spot for a trap pedal, and I don’t really want to hang it from the trap. I was thinking about attaching it to the bottom of the alice pack. What do you think?
I really don’t want to ditch the belt gizmo, only because I think it looks cool. I could do trap on one side and pedal on the other. Such problems!

I’m 5’5" so I know where you’re coming from. My 2nd pack is set up a bit higher on the alice frame and with spacers between the frame and mobo which got it from being directly against the back of my belt.
Could you slide your trap forward any and put the pedal where your trap is now or vice versa? You can always put your gloves on the alice pack waist strap. Otherwise you can give it a try hanging the pedal from the pack frame.
I’m 5’6". At first I adjusted the frame to sit with the straps across my natural waist. But, that’s where my utility belt went too. So I dropped the utility belt down some and adjusted the frame to sit a little above my waist. I also dropped the frame down a little bit on the motherboard. It’s all comfortable…but in the words of a good friend, I must choose my accessories wisely since I can only cram so much on a 30" belt.
I didn’t think of using the alice pack straps for the gloves, I’ll try that next time.
I found it to be very difficult to walk up stairs if the trap is hanging in front of my right leg (by moving it forward).
My husband and I will be sharing the pack until I can build another. He’s 6’3"…he can put pretty much everything on with no problem. Damn him!
Yeah I worried about your moved with the trap more forward. Heck I can’t remember how many times I’ve broken my circuit board while sitting down. It’s a tough balancing act and all trial and error unfortunately. Just find out what works best for you. We do have a couple of girls on our team your exact same size and build that have the same problems as well. I know we all want to cram as much on there as possible because the belt just doesn’t look good empty.
One of the Salt Lake team members just put his trap on his pack RBG style and it looks really good. That would certainly free up some belt space.
When you say that you don’t want to hang the pedal from the trap, are you referring to hanging it by the grey cable or red wires, or that you’re completely opposed to having the pedal on/in front of the trap at all?
Because in this thread, we’ve been discussing pedal placement, and one way we’ve seen of attaching it is to face the foot pedal towards the trap doors (with the grey cable on the top) and using the trap holster strap to hold the pedal to the trap.
Hopefully the images in the thread combined with the description gives you a good idea of what I’m talking about.
I meant that I don’t want to hang it by the grey cable. I don’t think it’d be very secure that way, especially walking around with it swinging and stuff,
I was thinking of perhaps adding loop (plastic) to the top of the trap pedal and using that instead of the grey cable to hang it from the trap handle. The loop would be screwed into the side of the foot pedal, when the pedal faces toward the trap it would be hanging from something more secure. Hmmmm.
I’m 5’8, so you are fairly tall for a woman (my wife is 5’ 1", but she doesn’t do the GB thing and yells at me every 33.333 days or a full moon) : P Looks ok to me. Does it hurt your back??
Nope, not at all…the pack itself if pretty light. But…haven’t had it on for a long length of time yet. It might get a little heavy after an hour or so…
