My question to you is who’s did you like better ? i think i liked Lorenzo a little better he was the original and everytime i hear Dave’s voice i think of fullhouse. Is it true that by a [Bill Murray](https://www.gbfans.com/wiki/people/bill-murray) said he didnt sound anything like him was the reason Lorenzo left the show ??? ---

Of course, the fact that Peter was better written as a character in the Music years helped. Another way to ask the question could be, whose voice do you hear in your head when reading fanfic? It’s almost always Music’s voice I hear in my head, same with [Laura Summer](https://www.gbfans.com/wiki/people/laura-summer) for Janine. it 's always about competition with you guys isn’t it. as far as i’m concerned both voice actors were the best. music for bringing out the comedic sarcasam of [bill murray](https://www.gbfans.com/wiki/people/bill-murray) and coulier for bringing bill murray’s voice to venkman all in all does it really matter who’s the best?all in all i was pretty much entertainned by both voice actors at what they did with pete venkman. ---

Lorenzo was my fave,he did Venkam more laid back with not a care in the world.As for Dave he was ok but he was more out there it’s as if he made Venkman care more for the team & he never fell out with [slimer](https://www.gbfans.com/wiki/characters/slimer) they was like best pals,it just was not the same without Lorenzo.But dave was still very good but just not as good as Lorenzo. ---

Definitely Lorenzo.. its true its the same voice he used for Garfield.. but lets face it.. [Dave Coulier](https://www.gbfans.com/wiki/people/dave-coulier) is a TERRIBLE impressionist.. I’ve been doing voice overs for cartoons and video games for a long while - and me and a fellow voice over artist friend of mine joke around about how terrible Dave Coulier is.. I mean.. have you heard his Bill Cosby impression!? Ugh! Definitely [Lorenzo Music](https://www.gbfans.com/wiki/people/lorenzo-music).. hands down. ---

you don’t think that you’re being a little tough on coulier i mean it’s like i said before both music and coulier both were great at bill murray’s character and aside from playing favorites i myself didn’t really care, because you have one voice actor who brings comedy and another who brings a somewhat voice likeness to the character. aside from that you also have to blame stracyzinski for this because if he hadn’t ditched rgb and stayed on as story editor and writer then he would have made up some cool dialogue that would have made coulier more likable to fans as he did with music instead of coming back like once every season. now to me he’s the dude that f’ed up the spider man comics. ---

This may be nostalgia talking but I honestly liked both Lorenzo and Dave. If I was to choose though I’d have to pick Lorenzo as he originated the animated role and made it his own. But I honestly like Dave Coulier’s [Bill Murray](https://www.gbfans.com/wiki/people/bill-murray) impression and how well he was able to emote with it. ---

it took me a while to get back but have you noticed something about the way lorenzo sounds it’s almost like those dudes who did the voice of huckleberry hound and shaggy. if you don’t know who i mean their names are casey kassm and daws butler. ---

Lorenzo hands down. As a kid I noticed the voice change and found it rather jarring. i remember when they first made the switch and I heard the new voice i just said to myself “that’s not Venkman.” When I got the box set and rewatched all the episodes I couldn’t help but noticed how Dave kept inserting his own little catch phrases every now and then that never really seemed to add anything to the character.“cut, it, out” for example. ---

if you asked me when i played [the video game](https://www.gbfans.com/wiki/games/ghostbusters-the-video-game) ghostbusters and heard bill murray’s dialog it felt like he was trying too hard to impersonate [lorenzo music](https://www.gbfans.com/wiki/people/lorenzo-music) pretty much like he did with the garfield movies so in a sense you shouldn’t put so much negatvity on coulier so much. cause in a sense between [the real ghostbusters](https://www.gbfans.com/wiki/games/the-real-ghostbusters-activison) and garfield you would think that [bill murray](https://www.gbfans.com/wiki/people/bill-murray) was out to get lorenzo. ---

both lorenzo and Couiler had there own verisons of peter - and each did there own very well - when i found out that lorenzo had passed away in 2001 i couldnt bring myself to watch the series even on utube for a very long time - it wasnt until 2005 that i started watching RGB again - mainly for the memories but remember we lost a great voice actor in [Lorenzo Music](https://www.gbfans.com/wiki/people/lorenzo-music) - hes very hard to replace 🆒 [Next page](https://forum.gbfans.com/t/lorenzo-music-and-dave-coulier-voices-of-venkman/24483.md?page=2)
