If I filled the list based on people posting or sending me a PM asking me to put them on the next run, I would have to start from at least a year and a half ago.
I’ve received at least one PM a day since the last time I offered these. I’ve actually had to clear out my inbox because I hit 500 messages the other day. If I sold them in that order, there would be an ungodly waiting list of about 400 people.
That’s just not going to happen right now.
I understand people might not be happy with this which is why putting my decal PDFs in the hands of the public will probably happen much later down the road. Either that, or I find someone who can take over and do these the **right **way.
So just hang in there, there will me more in the next week. Much more than 10…
These members are trying to get on the reserve list because they see other people reserving 3 and 4 sets each and know they will have no chance if it continues that way.
To be honest I understand this, especially for someone like myself who is in a different time zone. But I figured it wouldnt hurt to post something anyway to show I am interested.
I have no issue with missing out on your decals, if I am able to get an order in with you at the right time when good for me, but if I dont, then thats just life. As they saying goes, “Thats the way the cookie crumbles”.
I’m assuming the corners were starting to curl away from the backing paper before you even applied them too. Was that the case?
That’s caused by using an inkjet printer onto thin vinyl. The inkjet method is much faster and cheaper which is why it’s more common. That’s what happens when you use an inkjet printer on cheap vinyl. The print heads move back and forth over the vinyl spraying it with ink. The vinyl becomes so saturated with ink and as it air dries, it starts to contract, causing it to curl up away from the backing paper within minutes. I see it all the time.
I use a thermal imprinting method, which is much slower but much more durable. This method uses heat and pressure to infuse durable resin pigments into the vinyl. It’s a bit more expensive and time consuming because each color has to be added individually, but the payoff is worth it. The vinyl I use is a bit thicker and is still rated for 5 to 7 years in sunlight. On a proton pack, it’ll last forever.
So… basically what Filandrius said. This is good the stuff.
Regarding the sales, like I said this will be limited in time for Halloween anyway because of my wedding. I will do more afterward. I understand the frustrations (it’s almost exactly like Mattycollector) but I’m just one guy, doing what I can, when I can, not a whole corporation. Which is why I see the value of releasing the PDFs, but that’s not going to happen right away.
I’ll announce a time, and date when more will be listed no later than 24 hours before. I’ll try to make it later in the day, so it’s not too late for those on the West Coast. (I’m Central time.) But as I said before, if I went by PMs and lists, there would be a waiting list of 400+ people. …and 'm not producing 400 sets. No way!
I think that limiting the number of labels that people can get at one time and having a 24 hour “pre-order” notice would be the most fair way of doing it. I’ve been waiting for these a long time (and I understand not as long as some other members), and I can see where it’s frustrating, especially to new members, when one member orders five or six sets. Just my two cents.
