First up. You all wanted to know it. The Ghost Trap will be released on October 17th, on [MattyCollector.com](http://www.mattycollector.com/). It will be part of a Ghostbusters Halloween sale that will include re-releases of Ghostbusters action figures, including the [SDCC Stay Puft Marshmallow Man](https://www.gbfans.com/wiki/toys/mattel/sdcc-stay-puft-marshmallow-man)! The sale will run from October 17th through October 31st, but from past experience assume things will sell out FAST. Now unfortunately the announcement also indicates that Club Ecto-1 2012 has been canceled. There was not enough interest in the subscription service to allow for it to continue. The figures (including the exclusive figure) will still be available next year, and the line is not finished. However, again unfortunately the costs for the [6" figures](https://www.gbfans.com/wiki/toys/mattel/mattel-6-figures) will increase from $20 to $22 due to manufacturing cost increases. Club Ecto-1 2011 will continue for the rest of the year. Those who purchased a Club Ecto-1 2012 subscription will have their fees refunded in the next week. Well, I have to say that I am kind of bummed that Club Ecto is going bye-bye… knowing that the figures would just be showing up on my doorstep and not having to worry about ordering them on the day was nice… but as someone who purchased the subscription I will be interested to see what that special reward will be… can’t wait for the trap though!! So cool… Do you think the exclusive rookie figure will still go on sale now ? Or will it be saved now for something else special? ---

From what I gather He’ll be available with the rest of the regular figures. Would be nice if they let us that signed up for it get a first chance at buying the figures. ---

I have to get one of those traps! I’ll be watching their website like a hawk leading up to release. Does anyone know how fast the [PKE Meters](https://www.gbfans.com/shop/mattel-pke-meter) sold out last year? ---

They said they’re working on a special “thank you” to those who ponied up and subscribed. Hopefully it’s early access to the sales, even if it’s an hour or day. I’d be down with not having to fight the scalpers at launch time. ---

I am pretty full of nerd rage but will do everyone a favor and keep quiet. Looking forward to the trap. I can’t imagine the line lasting any longer than the figures they have already started development on. I am so bummed. ---

This wasn’t mentioned in the above article.. but it looks like the real reason for cancelling the Club Ecto-1 2012 is because they are limiting the line to 4 [6" figures](https://www.gbfans.com/wiki/toys/mattel/mattel-6-figures) instead of the 7 they had planned. Its probably pretty safe to say. This line is over. ---

This line is over. I suppose that cancelling the subscription does give Matty more time to work on the figures they have already announced. Hopefully that means that those figures will be of top-notch quality! In the end, when you ask Matty “Who you gonna call?” , their answer is HE-MAN! ---

wouldnt be surprised if it’s over, they really milked the figures.. but in the end, what can you really do about having 4 main guys and only a handful of secondary characters… the minimal pack ins and after thought pack ins while MOTU fans get weapons packs and a diff char every month…again going back to the 4 man group were a slap in the face… a stack of books… really ? oh well, i look forward to the trap at least ---
