Has anyone come up with any type of mod to get the proton wand to not sag while the proton stream is on it? Any suggestions might be helpful. I was thinking of possibly using a toothpick somehow.

This is the 2nd time in as many days, that this question has come up. The best solution would be to lop off the barrel and handle, drill out the box and use styrene tubing to make new ones.

If you thought about it, you could even get some clear acrylic rod that would fit inside the tubing and make extendable barrels. If you thought about it. 😉

One other solution ( and a much better one ) I could think of is to get some aluminum or brass tube that the barrel and handle would slide into. Model Rail Road Shops carry this. Cut the tube to size. Cut the barrel and handle in half then use the tube to connect them back together. A little superglue should do the trick.

I might even try this myself. 😉

How about just drilling down the stock piece and inserting a piece of music wire?I know it would take a bit of care but at least you wouldn’t have to add to places for it to break.

Been there and done that to replace broken hoses. It’s kinda like drilling into a gummy worm. Going in a quarter of an inch was tough enough, going through the whole length of the handle and barrel? Have fun and let me know how that works out. 😉

I wasn’t aware this was an issue. My non-slimed Venkman’s been on display with the stream attached to the gun since I got him months ago. No drooping, sagging, or any such thing. It’s still as straight as the day I bought it.

Maybe you guys should try moving his hand further up the handle? The closer to the front you get it, the less likely it’ll be to sag. Just a thought.

I have yet to open a single 6" GB figure.
