Does anyone have any reference photos oh how to properly mount the [hat lights](https://www.gbfans.com/wiki/equipment/proton-pack/hat-lights) in/on the gunbox? I have 2 orange and one “milky” white. I know the sockets are needed for the white one but I guess Im more directing the question to the hat light that sits inside the top of the gunbox.

I’ve had good luck with just using hot glue around the rim of the [hat light](https://www.gbfans.com/wiki/equipment/proton-pack/hat-lights) once it’s pushed into the hole. I was worried it wouldn’t last long, but when it came time to remove it from the thrower, i actually had to work to get it loose.

I thought about that, I was just thinking hot glue and aluminium don’t always work well together. I guess I could use epoxy…

Hot glue worked for me and I am building an aluminum thrower as well. Hot glue is a lot stronger than you think 🆒

Gorilla makes some super glue that will not fail you. If you want to remove them afterwards…

I just used hot glue on my thrower. I pushed the [hat light](https://www.gbfans.com/wiki/equipment/proton-pack/hat-lights) in from inside and used hot glue to hold it in place.

In regards to mounting the LEDs within the [hat lights](https://www.gbfans.com/wiki/equipment/proton-pack/hat-lights), I’ve found these to be helpful:

Radio Shack (and lots of other places online) sell these metal LED panel mounts - it’s in two parts - one is the metal mount, and then there is a removable interior black rubber plug that has two small holes for the leads of the LED to travel through. That rubber piece just happens to also fit the inside of the hat lights very well, so it makes for an easy way to keep your LEDs in place when you install them.
