# Name patch question...

**\*\*I’m getting my gear ready for the Tidewater Comicon in Virginia Beach in May. I scored a gun belt and [flight suit](https://www.gbfans.com/wiki/equipment/uniform) yesterday at a military surplus store yesterday. I’m about to buy my patches and here’s my issue… I have a last name that’s also a first name… Michael. Everyone calls me by a nickname “Rusty.” So there’s the question… last name or nickname on the patch. \*\***

And i know… to be correct it SHOULD be the last name.

Or another option… First initial and last name?

I’d go with what you want. Sure Michael may be screen accurate but there’s nothing wrong with you having Rusty on the patch if that’s what you want

I talked to the 757 Division Virginia GB and they agreed with your statement as well… go with what I want and no one will chastise me or exclude me because of a name patch. I just ordered my hose, connector, patches, and gloves. Tidewater Comicon here I come! Looking forward to meeting some of the forum members there too!
