Never Too Late To Post A Build!!! (INTENSE PIC ACTION)

So this was my first pack build. I never really considered myself a handy guy, but I never looked in the face of a challenge and admitted defeat before giving it the old community college try…

My buddy Al and I came to the conclusion this had to be done for the 2011 Halloween season. That being said, our adventure began with some messaging to our friend alkaline. We scored two of his shells and drove out to PA to go pick them up. There we also experienced our first Comicon, Steel City Con.

Once we got these it was like smooth sailing… Over Niagra Falls…

And so began the tedious task of prepping our shells.

Dremel work and sanding became like breathing to us. I think mostly because we inhaled a lot of our project…

After we depleted our cans of elbow grease we decided to open some cans of whoop… I mean aluminum spray paint.

Shortly after shining up our shells I got these beautiful mail order twins! Thanks to MMM.

And like any rational thinking, testosterone driven male would do… We screwed them!

And then we turned em’ over and sprayed their backside! Gigitty!

On a side note we also made our shells black again…

While we let those dry for a few weeks… I got some goodies in the mail! Thanks Nick-a-tron!

I gave the pack a little break, only because I was waiting for money to fall from the sky and for the mail man to make me feel like it’s my birthday or christmas or to remind my girlfriend what im “wasting” my money on… So in the mean time I began to assemble my wand…

Now there is gonna be a bit of a jump into the future, no thanks to videobobs DeLorean… but a couple days went by and I was so wrapped up in finishing my wand I didn’t take in between photos… sorry.

So moving back to the pack I installed a few key items:

A few more add-ons… lenses and some stickers…

Now came the time for the Dr. Frankenstein in me to give life to my creation and we began the task of wiring and soldering and connecting and bleeding and crying…

My buddy wired his up to have an AUX jack for mp3 player capabilities:

The light came next! Thanks to Jupiter Electronics.

I forgot to mention that id like to thank replica props for the sound chip, Crix for his adapter, and Coors Light for supporting me through the entire mess…

So my pack stayed in this state for quite some time… I was waiting for MMM to bring back his HGAs and then that happened!

Here is the wood I laid inside this piece:

If I was an ■■■■■■■, I apologize.

Other than that, looks like a solid build!

And then our packs were 99% complete! All that was missing was our Ion Arms… we ordered some from Franchesky… In August… and didn’t receive them until the Wednesday before Halloween… So while waiting for them to arrive I tried mt hand at building my own from scratch. I used norms plans, them being the easiest to decipher… and used a plastic sheet I had laying around and this is what I came up with:

And that brings us to the conclusion of our builds. We completed our packs 2 weeks before Halloween. We started back in February with obtaining our shells and ended with complete satisfaction!

Some slight mods were made after the finished product. I flipped the speaker around and drilled port holes through the mobo for better soundage!
