# Newbie off to a start

Hi Ghostbusters fans i’m new on this site can someone please help me learn more about this site works, and can someone please help me on finding the instrutions book on making a [proton pack](https://www.gbfans.com/wiki/equipment/proton-pack) from scratch.

You can find plans under the equipment section. Also check out the pack builds. My advice would be to do a lot of research as building a pack isn’t something you wanna just jump into.

There are a bunch of threads showing how to assemble packs from scratch in the index thread: [GBFans.com](http://www.gbfans.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=28621). If you really want to build a pack from scratch, realize it will cost 3x as much as buying parts and take a lot longer to get a finished product.

I too am working on my first pack. One thing I would recommend is to do a lot of research on this site and plan out your build before starting. It really has helped me. The search feature works great to find out just about anything you want to know.
