Oregonians.....

Eugene Oregon here

http://www.facebook.com/OregonGhostbusters

We’ve got quite a few local GB Fans – Like the page and post/share any fun GB events or activities in the local area! I’ve been working with some folks here in Salem to create a semi-regular midnight showing of Ghostbusters similar to the Rocky Horror showings, and hopefully we can set something up to alternate between Salem and Portland area theaters.

I would also love to coordinate some entries in local parades such as the McMinnville UFO Parade in the spring time, as well as the Keizer Iris Festival Parade, etc… if we had enough folks interested.

As with the 501st Legion, Rebel Legion and Mandolorian Mercs, I think with the proper promotion, we could do some good making appearances for charitable donations, food drives, etc…

This Sunday in Keizer, we’ve got a Halloween Food Drive scheduled at Tony’s Kingdom of Comics from 1pm - 5pm and will include many high quality movie-accurate costumed characters and I’d like to invite anyone to show up and hang out for photos, etc… there will also be raffles and huge discounts on comics and collectibles.

hahaha, seems im about 5 years late to the post but hey, better late then never right. So are any of us Oregonians gonna do a meet and greet ever? Did I miss that post? Or should we just post here for another 5 years to rack up a tally:)

Im here! In sherwood.

I’m out of Portland. I’d love to do a meet and greet with some local ghostheads. So far my costume only gets used on Halloween.

I’m on the east side (near Sandy), also TheBigGuy is out this direction.

Anyone here in the greater Portland Area be interested in forming a franchise? Or at least a small group?

That would be really great!

I’ll start a new thread if anyone is interested in forming a group. Just let me know and maybe we can schedule a meet and greet. Find out what equipment we have and what we’d need.

Im only 13, so I probably couldnt join/help out a group for a couple of years, but I would love to see one formed!

So would I. I hope others would be interested in seeing one too.

OHMYGOSH! I don’t know why I’ve never looked for this thread!

I am so excited about the prospect. I registered www.portlandghostbusters.com a couple years ago in hopes I could pull something together. The splash screen just sits there right now.

I don’t know how I’m going to explain this to my wife…

Sounds like we have two people onboard for a group.

I’m stoked for a Portland franchise.

Most GB franchises started out as groups of people helping each other with their props and many morphed into non-profit or not-for-profit groups that appear at events, volunteer or raise money for charity, etc.

http://ghostbustersunited.com is a great place to read about franchises and find links to their sites.

I would love to meet some new people and build props, but it would definitely be worth it if we use this as an outlet to serve the community in one way or another!

Agreed. I think it would be pretty awesome to use the group for community service as well and prop creation. My group was just me and my cousin. But it kinda disolved. I’m excited about Portland group!

This sounds great! Id be more than glad to join as soon as I could! A portland franchise would be so cool, especaily with an ecto if any one has one/ pulled one together.

I’m glad a younger generation is excited about Ghostbusters! If we form some kind of group, we will have to be very smart about how we approach the participation of minors. Hopefully we pull something together and you will have the opportunity to participate sometime down the road.

Regarding Ectos - ‘Ecto-1 fan’ lives in Gresham and drives a newer white hearse. He has some stuff that he uses to dress it up like an ecto around halloween. I thought it would be cool to do a parade or something, and see if he would participate with his vehicle. I also saw a Geo Metro ecto parked outside the vintage gaming convention last summer… not sure who it belongs to or if it’s even from the area.

An Ectomobile would be pretty sweet. I’ve toyed with converting my mustang to an Ecto Cruiser. But a hearse would be awsome! Especially for parades!

This sounds really great, and thanks guys for trying to include me, being in a GB group is a dream of mine. It would be great for an ecto to turn out!

Yup, busted!

Well, think along the lines of the Chevy Ecto 1C out of Chicago (did I get that right?) Mine is a temporary setup, but photographs well.

I hope to make it more “accurate” this summer. I don’t really have any other props, but the Ecto is definitely one of the “big ones,” haha.

Count me heavily interested.
