I recently joined you nice community because of a photography project I had to do for my Digital Imaging course at Eastfield College in Dallas, Texas.
The assignment was to take photos of a model in a “Fantasy” or “Glamour” setting. My professor suggested that we bring bathing suits or lingerie that we would like to see our girlfriends or wife wearing. A rather appealing proposal, yet I felt that seemed a little too clich?, so I took a slightly different route…
While I was sitting around thinking of ideas, it came to me, “Why not try a Ghostbusters theme?” I did a quick Google search for “Ghostbuster Props” and was led directly to this site. That’s to the plans provided on making traps, uniforms, and the Ecto Goggles, I was able to make one kick butt project!
Sort of as a thank you, I thought I would share with you all the fruits of my labor.

A little more background: It took me about 2 weeks to locate and assemble all of the props in these photos. The trap took the greatest about of time. I got my flight suit from a military surplus shop in downtown Dallas and the patches from SCIFIPATCH.com. The volleyball pads were purchased at Academy Sports and Outdoors. The hose and chemical gloves were purchased at Home Depot.
The trap is non-working, meaning that it cannot open and close. It does; however, roll around on wheels that I got from a pinewood derby kit at Hobby Lobby and allows the cartridge to separate from the tray. The tray is made from 1/2" plywood and the cartridge is constructed of 1/4" plywood. The silver panels on the sides are made from Plexiglas that are painted silver on the side screwed to the outer wall, thus preventing the paint from being chipped off. The toggle switch, LED light, and knob were all purchased from RadioShack. The cord attached to the back is a coaxial cable. My trap features no pedal due to time constraints.
The Ecto Goggles are Welding Goggles with PVC and metal pipe connectors glued to the front. I left one gray and painted the other black. It also features the black and silver knobs that were also used on the trap.
