PKE Electronics - FINAL UPDATE

Sorry it’s been a while since my last update. And unfortunately it’s bad news. Due to a major (unexpected) upheaval in my life it looks as though this project is going to go unfinished.

As regular readers of this board will know these things unfortuanely happen all to often

To make amends I am going to try and do two things. Firstly I’m am going to sell my part completed PKE.

Included are the following:

~PKE Shell incl wings

~Servo Controller circuit with standard size servo

~LED Chaser Circuit

~Assortment of LED’s and various other electronic components

The shell doesn’t need a lot more doing to it. There is still a little triming/sanding left to do and a few holes need cutting. There currently arem’t any wing mounts so these will need building up.

The servo controller needs to have a micro servo (not supplied) attached as the standard size was only ever used for test purposes. The potentiometer needs removing a replacing with a dual one(not supplied) (this dual pot will control the movement of the wings and the speed of the lights). The 3 AAA’s that power this circuit need to be mounted in the handle of the shell and attached.

The LED chaser needs the power switch removed and replaced with a connection across the points. The Potentiometer needs removing as well as the dual one mentioned is to be attched here. All of the 8 test LED’s need removing and replaced with the actual PKE LEDS (supplied). The 8 test resistors will also need removing and replaced with new ones (not supplied) to handle the extra LEDS. The 9v battery that powers this circuit will also need to be mounted to the shell. I’de looked at doing this inbetween the wing mounts.

I’d planned on building a small (for want of a better expression) power circuit to turn on both of the individual circuits. I’d planned to have a small switch (supplied) which turned on the servo controller which then triggered a relay (not supplied) turning on the LED chaser. I’d also considered attached one of the supplied square LEDs to act as a power light.

Other than a paint job to the shell thats pretty much all that needs doing. If anyone is interested in making one and is reasonable competent with a soldering iron and electronic components then this is and ideal project for them.

If anyone is interested in buying this kit please PM me, all offers will be considered.

The other thing I will try to do (time permitting) is post my “research” into the circuits themselves and the components used.

WOW!! I think thats the biggest post I’ve ever left.

Chances are I’ve left something out so if you have any questions,\please feel free to post them here.

i was woundering if you had any pics of it and how much would you like for it email me back at [email protected]

thanks,

tyler

I’ve had a couple of PM’s and posts both asking for pics of the project and an idea of the cost.

I will try and upload a few pics tomorrow but if you would like to see a video of the circuits in action this can be found at:

As fot the cost. Ideally I’d like to break even on the project (which is approx ?162 GBP or $300 USD) but to be honest all serious offers will be considered.

Sorry this has taken awhile. Like I said I’ve got a lot of things happening at the minute but good news is I plan to have pictures uploaded this weekend!!!
