Hey GBFans, I am pleased to offer the latest version of my Proton Gun kit, the V3H resin/metal hybrid kit! This version builds upon the strong base we had with my V3.0 kit, and takes it to what I feel is the next logical step.

Proton Gun Body
The V3H Proton Gun Body has been tweaked from the V3.0 body for added accuracy and quality. The original body was rapid prototyped from a 3D file built in Solidworks by Adam VanDuyn, based on blueprints put together by myself with the help of GBFan’s members Vincenzo330, Namebrand, mburkit, and ChapterMasterTu’Shan. In addition to the modeling work done by Adam, the Rear Instrument Bar has been completely remodeled by AJ Quick, and the Trigger Box has been completely remodeled by Matthew Clark.
The first thing you may notice is the updated Rear Instrument Bar. One of the request I’d often hear was a way to make working with the RIB easier, so I’ve done away with the solid block and replaced it with hollowed out space. This will make drilling holes for wires much easier, cut down on a little unnecessary weight, and give you a little extra space if you need it (say, for a 9-volt battery).
You may also notice a big change to the way the front handle connects to the gun box. Gone is the resin peg from my previous versions, instead I have opted to include a real aluminum nub molded directly into the gun body. This will give the builder many more options while still being easy to put together. I’ve included a metal adapter to use with my resin front handle (pictured with the hoses), or you can order a metal handle from one of the reputable metal fabricators and install it in a cinch.
While it may not be quickly apparent, the Heat Sink has been replaced with one of the extremely rare OEM Heat Sinks found by the SCGBs. This is just like the Heat Sink used in the films, not an attempted fan reproduction, and I am very happy to have it on the kit. It is slightly more beefy than the one seen on the V2.5 and V3.0 kit.
The inside is designed for optimal space. All 6 base mounting points are present in this version. The mounting block for the rear handle has been modified to clear space for the brass rod.

Do note that for accuracy’s sake my gunbody is no longer compatible with 1” PVC. You will want to use 1.25” pipe with a 1.125” ID. Pipe of this size can be purchased online, or you can find a suitable size in the sink section of your local hardware store. The full kit now includes all the metal tubing needed for both the rear handle and to make the front barrel rotate easily.
Trigger Box
One of the more exciting design changes for V3H is the updated Trigger Box. In an effort to create the appearance of a completely sealed in Trigger Box as seen in the movie, while still being able to remove it later should the need arise, I’ve devised a system where the opening is hidden on the side. Now to install the Trigger Box, you simply secure it to the Rear Instrument Bar as shown above, then run two bolts from the inside of the RIB into a bracket inside the Trigger Box. Because the rear handle will obstruct the view of the seam, the box will now appear to be sealed in.
**Gun Track & Base Plate **
The Gun Track is made using measurements provided by Namebrand, which were then laser cut. It was then finished off with some machined parts from Phantom50. Like with previous versions, v3H comes with a base plate with drill points for the securing bolts.
Rear Cylinder
The original was flawlessly machined by Jimbo7 based on Namebrand’s measurements.
Knobs, Hoses, and other Greebies
Rear Handle and Front Handel Rotation Tube
The completed kit now includes the 1.25" metal tube for the rear handle, as well as a tube for the front handle to rotate around. The rotation tubes allow the builder make the front grip rotation effect by simply placing the front grip assembly over the tube and securing the tube in place with a single screw! The Rotation Tube also acts as the silver collar at the tip of the thrower, so if you wanted a real metal collar you no longer need to upgrade to one.

Thanks to Neil Ward, the owner of various Ghostbusters-related production props and molds, the proton gun kit will now include grips with lineage to the studio props.
As best as we can ascertain, these would be third generation casts from studio molds, and, as far as I know, these are not available for purchase anywhere else outside of this kit.
