I don’t want to be a troll here, but I don’t like that design one bit. I simply don’t understand how that “pack” would be an improvement over the classic one. Sure, modern means miniaturized, but the weird over-the-arm thing would be impractical to say the least.
well, even in the comic, Egon explained that they would have less power than the standard proton pack. Egon threw them together from a comment Winston made about the destructive side effects the full sized proton packs made in smaller spaces like apartments.
Makes sense that over time there’d be different packs or “weapons” for different situations, but I think that designing such stuff is a really tricky business. I’m not really sure how I feel about the ■■■■■■■■■■■■ pack design, although it looks like it might be a fun prop to build, it just doesn’t seem practical even as a “less powerful” weapon for confined spaces.
Looks neat as a prop though, good job replicating it.
thanks. I tell you what its a hell of a lot nigher to have those strapped to ya than the regular packs. your shoulders and back arent killing you by the end of the day
Hah, wow, crazy. so do you guys mind if i post some of these on my site?
Ok, stuff you guys are talking about got me thinking, did a new side view, showing the part of the mount that conforms to the upper arm, and some notes about what sort of harness might work and what i had in mind when i drew it.
you really cant tell by the pics, but mine has a strap around the arm and is then attached to that tactical vest Im wearing. I’ll post oics of that tomorrow.
I would also like to thank you for coming up with this new prop for us. great job!!!
