It was a likely outcome as they’d been originally scheduled to release at the same time as the game. ---

I’m probably wrong in saying this but as I didn’t have a Blu-Ray player and it was looking mostly like it was a rehash of the previous DVD release, I wasn’t planning on picking them up in the first place. ---

Well, I figured this would be the case considering [the video game](https://www.gbfans.com/wiki/games/ghostbusters-the-video-game) delay. Even before then, I thought it was a little odd that they wouldn’t capitalize on the 25th anniversary of the original movie and 20th for the sequel. Having just said that, I am disappointed that I won’t get to be “Slimed in Hi-Def” this fall. I’m a huge supporter of the Blu-ray format. I really hope that they take this added time to really make this something better than a reissue of the last DVD edition with a few added goodies (Stay-Puff Doll anyone…?). I am really praying that GB2 gets some much needed respect too. There is so much content out there for that movie (features, **TONS** of [deleted scenes](https://www.gbfans.com/wiki/ghostbusters/deleted-scenes), cast interviews, promo tie-in items, ects…) that they really have no excuse to not provide fans with something. ---

I just hope they can make the Blu-Rays better than they planned them to be. Specifically the [Ghostbusters 2](https://www.gbfans.com/wiki/FAQ/ghostbusters-2) copy. ---

I hope this doesn’t affect [The Real Ghostbusters](https://www.gbfans.com/wiki/games/the-real-ghostbusters-activison) box set. I wouldn’t be surprised if it did. I hate all the big companies right now. Waving all this new Ghostbusters stuff in our faces then saying, “Oh wait a second. The 25 and 20th anniversaries are next year. Let’s push everything back until then, so we can advertise it better and, make stir up the hype a little more” I know this isn’t exactly what happened but, it feels like it. Why didn’t they figure this out sooner. It’s like making a man who’s crawled across the dessert and two feet before he reaches the glass of water move it back another quarter mile because, “The ending will be more dramatic”. ☹ Sorry about the rant. I just want some new GB stuff. ---

_[The Real Ghostbusters](https://www.gbfans.com/wiki/games/the-real-ghostbusters-activison): The [Complete Collection](https://www.gbfans.com/wiki/real-ghostbusters/releases/complete-collection)_, the comic and manga are all still set to hit the respective releases we were first given. The only reason the Blurays are delayed is because it was always the plan to cross promote the two items, either in October or, as we know now, for the 25th Anniversary. ---

Does anybody know if the Ghostbusters 1 & 2 set with the Slime,[Trading Cards](https://www.gbfans.com/wiki/ghostbusters-2/trading-cards),Stay Puft Figure, and Book is still coming out on Oct. 21 2008? Hi, Here is what I found on [fye.com](http://fye.com) Ghostbusters 1 and 2 [WS] [2DVD/Scrapbook/Trading Cards/Slime/Figurine] UPC: 043396215931 Product Id: 51342040 Release Date: 10/21/2008 Format: DVD Genre: Comedy Is it just the Blu-Ray that is postponed unti 2009?
