Unfortunately alot of gamers seem to be jaded these days and they tend to leave this kind of comment on anything that isnt an entirely original concept.
after reading the preview again though its really encouraging to see how enthusiastic the staff at TeamXbox seem to be about the game.
Its not often that you hear those kind of comments about a game delivering in the way they are saying GB does, and its even more rare for a movie based game to garner such praise.
Heh, it still makes me nervous about things. Seems whenever a site hypes up a video game now a day they proceed to bash it later on in their reviews (mainly IGN though). Still, it was nice to see how much they seemed to enjoy previewing it.
“Commentator” sounds like too distinguished a title for what basically is a cynical tool. Some people are strange, they’ll bash something like GB by saying it looks uninspired when anyone can see it really doesn’t look like any other game that’s come out in recent memory but won’t bash the up-teenth FPS to come out this year that does look like every other FPS to come out before it.
It’s almost like the jaded and cynical gamers THINK they want something original but really they want something they’ve played a billion time before but with a slight twist.
They’re quick to turn on something like GB but they’ll say it’s because it looks repetitive when really it’s because it’s new. I mean I LOVE FPS’s but I honestly can’t think of a more repetitive, shop-worn genre in gaming and yet have you heard anyone bitch about KZ2 being essentially the same old shit?
What I like about Ghostbusters TVG is that it is something that hasn’t been done before. It’s not another call of duty, or GTA or any other style of game that we have seen. It has elements of a FPS but it really is not. I haven’t played a game where I have to wear an enemy down and then try to rangle it into a trap. Sure there are games that you have to wear the enemy down only to play some simon says game with the buttons to bring the thing down but this just doesn’t have that. At least not as far as I have seen yet. The ghost seems to put up quite a fight to get in the trap and that make the trapping side of it exciting. Slime tether looks very fun! I think it is something new and exciting and sure it isn’t going to be perfect or the right fit for everyone but I think it will be a good fit for quite a few people. Also don’t look to gaming sights to decide your purchases. They always hype the game and then tear it down (IGN that’s you). You get out of a game what you want. You make it what it is most of the time. It can’t be helped if the game is glitchy and poorly made then you have a reason to complain. I don’t think GBTVG will have these problems because of the long Dev time it has had though. Ok sermon over. Looking forward expectantly to this release!
PS. For a fare gaming experience to any of you that are on the fence about gamefly. This is the best way to get games and try before you buy. I love it! I am buying this game outright but I use GF for all of my other gaming needs and it’s awesome! If you can get it I would highly recommend it.
reading ted and annets point aothers on the subject, i have to post in agreement.
seriously these people need to get their head out of the past and accept something new. it is like that with purists too.
a good example i can think of is x-men evolution: good show, interesting concept (going back to their roots by having half the team as teenagers just like they were from issue one to whatever in the comics… and i liked the look of rogue in that one: she fit her name in appeance) it had good stories with action humor.
but some people dis it with smarmy remarks that its not any better than the origional. i think that ijust a stupid excuse.
its not a continion of the origional, its something new.
yet the bash it because it was a new idea (heck i even find people bashing the new wolvernd the X-men everyone was praising… i’m whatching it and there is nothing wrong with it!!!"
(x-men evolution was my fav x-men, nothing anyone can say will change my mind)
i like to think of it this way, "the pyramids are amazing, but we prefer modern archetecture ". accept the new, and remember the old, dont compare!
anyway, the interveiw was great, but i have question… whats kz 2?
