# The Kid wants a Proton pack!!!

Hi

Fist time posting here! I sat my five year old down the other day and put on ghostbusters and he loved it. He’s has watch GB 1 and 2 five times and can’t get enuff of it. He asked me if I can make a [proton pack](https://www.gbfans.com/wiki/equipment/proton-pack) for him to have at Halloween. I made a really detail knight costume out Eva foam last year so I have to step it up this year.

I have plans to make it a “sorta like the movie” consept pack dew to its scale down size also it has to be as light as I can make it. I am going to try and make a mold out of wood and then vacuum foarm to make the shell. The wand I’m going to worry about later but will most likely use pvc pipe and and make the wand shell out of something. I have 1" pvc pipe ALICE frame made with 1/8" masonite mother board but I may ditch the ALICE frame and use backpack straps and the [motherboard](https://www.gbfans.com/wiki/equipment/proton-pack/motherboard) (he is only 5).

But the main reason I’m posting here to ask if you have any advice on how I can make this light up and have sound as cheap as I can. The amazing gb pack I see on here blow me away but all seem to have an expensive light and sound kits in them and I now there worth every penny but I’m vary motivated and big DIY tipe dude. If I somehow can light the pack with the cool tracers and buttons with sound on the budget?

I’m working on a half scale build right now. I’m basically going to light it with a battery operated LED kit since its incredibly small. Also I wouldn’t worry about sound. Speaking as a person that has a pack with lights and sound, the sounds are neat but unless you have a couple of speakers, they get drowned out and drain the batteries.
