The last batch of Movie PKE circuits - 4 remaining!

I have no Matty meter to compare it to, so I’m guessing it’ll be good regardless!

The Matty meter is not 100% screen accurate. So I’ll guess these will be far better than the Matty’s.

And how are our PKEs faring at the mo? Again, no impatience, don’t worry; I just like asking for updates

Kind regards,

CK

Soon as I get the order in fr the Mighty’s this week I’m gonna finish up the electronics on the PKEs. I hope to get that order in tomorrow.

any left? i know its been a while?

There are four left, but I won’t have time to work on any more until after Halloween.

Meaning you wont be able to work on any new orders or should I forfeit the expectation of having my kit by Halloween?

That only applies to new orders. I am at this very moment soldering the screen connectors on, then I will be epoxying the wires to secure them in place, and after that I will make the pushrods, and I think then the kits will be done. The full PKEs are still being worked on, but if you’re Ernie Slaughter in NY (your location says Pennsylvania, so I’m not certain), then you ordered a kit only and those will be going out shortly.

T’is I, good sir. Pennsylvania is Home base. Thanks for the clarification.

I have a NY shipping address for you, so if that is incorrect, send me an email at [email protected]

This is great news. I can’t wait to get my hands on my new kit!

NY shipping address is still a go.

I’ve finished assembling the electronics for all the PKEs and will be shipping out the kits either Monday or Tuesday. There is still work to be done on the shells for the fully assembled ones however. Those will ship around the 18th.

Hey guys,

Kits will be shipped out in the next couple days. I ordered shipping materials from the post office last week but haven’t received them yet, and when I made a trip there yesterday to pick some up they told me they were out and that they expected a new shipment in the next day or two.

Hey guys,

Still haven’t got my shipment of boxes, and the local place is still out, so I took a trip and picked up some at another post office 45 minutes away. I don’t know if I will be able to get out to the post office tomorrow morning, but if I don’t the kits will ship on Monday. I also picked up some boxes for the full PKEs while I was at it since I have no idea when these boxes I ordered will arrive.

Any Luck on getting the kits shipped out today?

I worked on the shells for the full PKEs yesterday but I was not able to get to the post office to ship the kits. I am in the process of packing the kits up now to ship them out this evening. You should get your kit in a couple days.

All the kits for those living in the US were shipped this evening, and the international orders will be shipped in another day or two; I didn’t have time between packing up all the kits and dealing with the PCB manufacturer to fill out the customs forms for those.

I tested all the kits before I packed them up, and I threw in some extra black screws for mounting the wings.

My kit arrived today and it is awesome. Just wondering though if you have an assembly guide or something to go with it.

Thank you,

Adam

I do not have an assembly guide but I will try to post a photo tonight showing how I have hooked up the servos in one of the PKEs along with an explanation of how to do it. It’s fairly easy to do, but it’s difficult to explain.

Step 1 is to turn on the PKE with the servos plugged in so they reset to the default position. The servos should be mounted upside down in the top half of the PKE, with the blue text on them towards the top of the PKE. But some of the servo arms have to be cut off, and you need to drill the fourth hole out from the center of the arm to be large enough to accept the pushrod, and you may need to undo the screws to set the arms in the right position, possibly rotating one 180 degrees to adjust it by half a tooth on the gear.

You’ll also want to drill out the metal plating inside the larger hole on the wings so the 6-32 screw will fit. And the ball joint should be put on the wing using the smaller hole and mounted such that the ball is on the underside of the wing where the solder joints are.

Basically, when the wings are down, the servo arms will be pointing a little over 45 degrees towards the top of the PKE. When they’re up, the servo arms will have moved down pulling on the pushrods, which extends the wings.

Oh and you will need to tape the servos together and then stick them down with the double sided tape. If you don’t tape them together they will just pull off the tape eventually. If you tape them together the forces balance out and there’s more adhesion area for both.

Oh, and the servo trip pots adjust how far UP the wings extend. So don’t bother with that until they reset to the down position properly. If the wings are not in the right position when down, you’ll need to adjust the brass threaded thing to lengthen or shorten the pushrod, or fix the angle of the servo arms when they’ve been reset.
