Toy sh*t that'll make you turn white!

any way to eliminate the bubbles in the ghost? other than that issue, that is awesome!

That’s really cool. Capt - you have done some of the most innovative things in the past several months with these toys than I’ve seen in a long time.

Yes, I’m working up plans for a cheap vacuum chamber which should "suck out’ those pesty bubbles, or at least most of them.

Thanks, but I think that’s only because ā€œnobody elseā€ is interested in the defunct Kenner RGB toys, outside of collecting them. Yes, there are quite a few Kenner Ecto conversions (Spengler28, joeghostbuster, mikegb1984x, scouttrooper and Michael Scott to name a few) and some figure repaints and redos (nick-a-tron, Gareee and others) but everything else has been geared towards the new Matty figures (PeteVenkman_jedi, MeReel and others), which is why I used them to start this thread. And I’m just as guilty because it was the Matty Ray figure that started me out on the Firehouse and Ecto movie conversions.

While collecting parts to complete the Firehouse and Ectos, I amassed a pile of figures and stray parts. Looking at them, most are in line with the Cartoon but are off in some respect, just like the Matty figures are to the Movie. Then Vinny asked if anyone could make custom Packs for his RGB figures and that gave me a direction to go.

I’ve said ā€œnobody elseā€ but that’s not really true. SlimeGuy has done an excellent job on some Cartoon PKE Meters and I’ve enlisted the help of spiff for an upcoming project. From what I can see, there are a lot of things that still can be done with the Kenner toys and if some of that bleeds over to the Matty line ( like these Ghost Stand Traps ), so much the better.

It’s very possible, look at the minimates!

No new comments? Well, then more pictures. This is what spiff and I are working on.

Coming 2011

Questions or comments please, otherwise I assume there is no interest in something like this?

Interest! Interest! INTEREST!

You could probably make a set of peoplebusters replacement heads and hands for the Matty figures as well! While I like the clear green, I think the completely clear might be better with a greenish yellow wash on it.

BTW, something you might want to look up, is glow powder that can be added to resin. It comes in many colors, and is VERY bright. I remember someone casting 12" scale monster heads with it a few years back in a toy forum.

OH man!! Citizen Ghost heads for the figures would be awesome!

Those Citizen Ghost versions are amazing, Capt!!!

Capt, you’re such a comment ā– ā– ā– ā– ā–  - j/k - yeah these are pretty damn sweet! cant wait to have my own set of these guys, and some ghosties too!

I’m in for a full set of Citizen Ghost RGB figs when they are available. So, put my name down on any list you make have. I would like to see the transparent green have a bit more green to it but I really like the first painted green head as well.

Yes, I am! Comments let me know if I’m on the right track or not (like the Kenner Ghost Trap for example, who knew you guys would think it’s too friggin’ big?). Comments also open up new possibilities, like the following.

Hey Gareee! That is one beautiful idea that never crossed my mind. I found a place that has it online. There weren’t many colors, but they did have this:

Ultra Green V10 (55-85m) Glow in the Dark Powder is the brightest glow in the dark pigment readily available in the world. Furthermore, it is far brighter than similarly named products available on the Internet and 30 times brighter than the zinc sulfide products often sold in retail stores.

V10 55-85m has a brightness rating of approximately 33,000 immediately after charge, 945 at 10 minutes, and 126 at 60 minutes. It continues to be visible by the human eye more than 24 hours after the initial charge.

All of our Ultra V10, Ultra, or Standard Green products are a lime green when glowing in the dark. In the light, the pigment is a very light green. When mixed into a clear medium, the final product is translucent light green, opacity being determined by pigment load and application thickness.

I ordered a small portion to run some resin tests with. If this works out well, they also have a powder that glows white which could possibly work for the Firehouse Sign.

The heads I saw these other guys do were really amazing glow wise. I had no idea that glow chemicals could look so bright. If I recall, he also wasn’t using a lot of the stuff either.

Citizen Ghost figure kits, actually. As the Kenner figures are a finite supply, I thought it would be better to make whole figures with the head and hands (arms) transparent and rest of the body solid white resin with the globa of Stay Puft molded on. Also easier to install a LED in the chest to make the head and hands glow, although if the glow powder works it might make that idea moot.

I go through the threads first to see who showed interest, so you are on the list when I make it official. The green repaint was the start to this whole Citizen Ghost thing.

Whole CG kits?? Sweet! Then, like you said, I don’t even have to canibalize the figures I do have. That’s a great idea.

OMG, that looks awesome.

I am interested, pending price. I expect these could be rather costly, with glowing chemicals or LEDs, or whatever you feel is best!

Excited to see how this turns out!

I would be down for a Citizen Ghost figure set, no joke. You just keeping knocking the ball out of the park, Cyan.

It’s great to see such creativity.

Bet you someone will hollow one or more of their figures out so they can install some LEDs in their Citizen Ghost figures.

Hopefully we can keep it around the price of the Matty figures. I have high expectations for the Glow Powder which would eliminate the need for LED’s, wires and batteries. Tests will have to be done to find the proper Powder to resin ratio, coloration, etc.

They wouldn’t need to. The whole idea with the translucent green was to cast up the head and arms so the light would travel throught them from the center of the figure, which we would keep hollow as they were origionaly made. Wireing would come out the plug hole in the back.

I’m thinking the Glow Powder is a better way to go. No battery or wires to hide,a more even glow with no dark spots (see the ghost pics at the start of this thread) and you should be able to slap a Pack on them. What’s not to like?

Im so down

wow..another home run. sign me up.
