So, I’ve tried looking around for this answer myself, but I haven’t had much luck. It may seem like a bit of a silly question, but I was wondering how exactly the acrylic tube for the wand tip actually attaches to the grip of the proton gun. Does it hold on with friction alone?

I’m using a ThrowingChicken kit that I’ve recently acquired and I see it has a small resin piece that looks like the aluminum ring at the base of the wand tip. I was considering getting a full wand tip kit with the ring, acrylic tube, and [trigger tip](https://www.gbfans.com/wiki/equipment/proton-pack/trigger-tip) all in one, but I wasn’t sure how all of this goes together on a resin kit, I suppose.

If you don’t have a popping mechanism (I do not but I assume that would make a difference) it’s friction.

In TC’s kit I think it’s called a resin collar. This piece:

If you have problems with it sliding out, maybe add a little dab of super glue to the ring where it attaches to the gun handle. The clear tube should fit in it pretty snugly.

Thanks! That’s exactly what I needed to know. 🙂

FreekyGeeky also sells a very nice aluminum tube holder for the base which fits perfectly into the TC thrower handle.

Reeeeeaaaallly? That sounds like exactly what I’m looking for. I’d prefer it if the tube holder and trigger assembly were both aluminum.

Instead of super glue maybe just wrap the tube with tape. It would be easier to remove later should you need to.

You could always use a tiny headless set screw to keep the tip from sliding out, and it would still need to be removable should you need to make future repairs or modifications.

I should also mention that FreekyGeeky’s tube holder was perfect for sandwiching spongeface’s super bright wand LED between the clear tube and the end of the base. Tape would work too but this was very clean.
