Western Michigan Scratch Build

So I renamed the Title of my other thread and I am starting I new thread without the how to on the Clippard Valve. I figured it would be better to let that one fall down the line. Anyways here are some progress pictures on my build.

Starting of a gear box.

Some 2’x4’s glued up for the EDA box.

Two spray lids shoved together for the HGA. These were from Hornet Spray and are larger than normal spray paint lids. I am trying to get a good weld line around it my using my large soldering iron. I have fixed it some since this picture. It also looks better when you are more than 3 inches from it.

Here it is with the power cell and gun mount. I may have to recut the motherboard to match the lines of my parts a bit closer but it really isn’t to far off so I may leave it for now. I noticed in some of these pictures that my camera kind of warps things. All of the bars on our Foosball table are perfectly straight so you can tell how much the images are being warped.

And here is as it sits right now.

I need to have it done by the 22nd for a local Comic Con. I think I can make it but still have a lot to do.

Looking excellent dude!

This looks really good so far!

I have tremendous respect for anyone who builds from scratch. I tried it with my first pack and failed miserably. It’s hard and you’re pulling it off nicely,

Looking good!

Did some more work on my pack today. Added the rest of the fins, built the booster frame, glued together and added filler to all the top pieces. Still along way from done but it is getting there. And it is far from screen accurate but it is close enough for me.

I figured if I wasn’t going to use the right pencils at least these are a Dixon pencil.

Looking par +! Excellent!

Are you doing the spacer between the top and bottom half? (where the Beam Line anf Filler tubes go)

That is actually the next thing I am going to be working on I think. I always seem to find something else to pick at though. I have to keep telling myself I need to be done by the 21st.
