# What do you use/or how did you make the cyclotron

I am attempting to make my 1st [proton pack](https://www.gbfans.com/wiki/equipment/proton-pack) and I am stumped on how to make this or what to use for it. I bought a 9’’ cake pan at Walmart, but it just doesnt look right to me. This could be because I am having trouble visualizing it as a finished product or maybe not. Opinions?

There’s a couple 9" cake pans walmart sells. One has vertical sides, and is either 2.5" or 3" deep and a 1/4" bevel, and the other is 2" deep and has sides which are slightly angled and a more shallow bevel.

You want the first kind.. But the [cyclotron](https://www.gbfans.com/wiki/equipment/proton-pack/cyclotron) is only 2", so you’ll want to make the hole in your spacer big enough that you can place it below the surface a bit.

I made my hole just large enough that it was a snug fit and after putting the ring around it, (which will sit right on the lip) and gluring that into place it wasn’t going anywhere.

I just checked, and the pan I got is a “nordicware layer cake pan”.
