Okay so on all the blueprints and plans i looked at i have yet to see if this is correct or belongs but i was watching GB with 3 of my friends yesterday and we realized that next to the blue powercell lights there seems to be 2 yellow lights as well.

Here are some screen grabs i got from this site that has the lights i speak of in it.

also on the Ion Arm, next the the resistor closer to the motherboard it seems that theres a washer with a screw or button in the middle. also have yet to see that detail in plans (or i missed it) i was curious about these 2 things.

The so called “yellow lights” are actually thin spots in the fiberglass and the light from the Powercell Lights are just shining through.

Also,just posting the javascript window will not post the pics on the board.

Yep, just the paint rubbed off letting light shine through the fiberglass shell

And it is indeed a screw and washer holding the pack shell to the motherboard…

That’s why you put thick layers of paint on your shell. Now, if you really want to be screen accurate per this specific pack, only sand down parts of the shell :stuck_out_tongue:

The screw and washer you identified on the Ion arm is part of the assembly that held the shell onto the motherboard.

Thanks guys/ I was curious when i saw that and since im working on my first pack i wanted it to be as accurate as possible but if its fade marks then i wont be THAT accurate.

Ha! Just wait til the BluRay comes out. People are going to be able to see hairs on their face! What new details will we find then? : )

You can only do so much with 1980s film stock, bear in mind.

I think this was addressed in another thread (maybe under “Ghostbusters”?) From what the poster said, 35mm film has a tremendous amount of data in it. Remember, you are going from that little cell across a movie theater to a large screen. Ever go full size with a low res AVI or Quicktime? I don’t own a BluRay player, and I doubt that I will get one anytime soon. (Remember K talking to J in Men in Black? “Sport, see this little disk? That’s going to be the next big thing in audio in ten years. I’ll have to buy the White album all over again” (or something like that : )

What is the Gold things on the Power Cell? Is that the switches Egon uses in the Elevator when Ray says “Switch me on”? Also, concerning that sceen…does anybody remember it being longer…? My DVD has Egon starting to turn around then they cut to getting off. I remember him trying to turn around an Venkman too…

What you see is white light shining through the pack shell I believe where some paint is worn off… :smiley: A really good place to see the lights cycling on it is the “Successful test” shot before they split up.

EDIT I went ahead and merged the discussions together with an older one with some good shots of it. :smiley:

Nothing. All he does is push on the screw. :blush: :sigh:

Actually, he doesn’t even do that, his hand is somewhere around the injector tubes and not near the bolt/washer.

Hehe, I’ve placed a cutoff switch on my pack behind the injectors. LOL.

bump…They can remaster any film stock to current high def specs. There is enough data in the 35mm to go way beyond what 1080P will do.

Indeed - 35mm is higher resolution than bluray - Just remember, that film projects a 45ft image with no loss of resolution.

I remember reading that 35mm is the equivalent to 25 megapixels.

That sounds about right, AJ.

Now just imagine what you could do with 75mm film like Kubrick used on 2001… Relatively speaking, bluray is VHS.

If you look at some of the character models for the ghostbusters video game, you can see where the designers added in those two gold spots as lights on the side of the power cell. just a side note.
