Where does the PKE meter goes on the uniform? I have searched on the site but found no answer.

There are at least 7 pockets on the average flightsuit. Pick one.

In the fims, the PKE is never shown attached to the uniforms. They simply hold it in their hand.
In the games, the meter is attached to the belt. I think it is placed on the right side hip. No attachment method is shown, but the way it is on there, there would have to be a hook on the back side of it. It is hung right side up.
There is a little round quick release hook that star wars enthusiasts use for their light sabers which I think someone used to connect their PKE in this manner. Others have suggested using some kind of holster. Attaching some kind of hook to the bottom of it could also work.
I don’t think there’s any good pocket to put the meter in on the suit though. At least with my Rothco suit, which had a rocket on the leg, when I put a meter in there it banged on my knee all night. And the chest pockets were too shallow and high up.
You might also mount it on the shoulder straps, as is done with the flash light.
That would be my iona scratch built PKE meter build.
It’s a Covertec WIPS system. Costs about $10 bucks on amazon.com.
I would think other than finding or making a holster would be the cell clip method. I mean it’s just adhesive and non destructive. The covertec method would probably better suited to handmade builds since it requires drilling a hole. I wouldn’t feel comfortable drilling a hole into the matty pke because of the unknown placement of the electronics
If you drill a hole to attach a connector, you’re going to need to open it up anyways to attach said connector from the inside.
True, Crix, very true. I personally, don’t like messing with factory built setups. I think i’m going try to make a holster. I’m leaning towards a modified tape measure holder. But too each their own. It’s funny that since a vast majority of fans have never had a pke, and now that they’re readily available, everyone is now trying to figure out just where the hell to put it. I think my favorite is Scott from the SLC GBs method. He carries his with a leg holster. Very cool stuff.

That is a Maglight holder. Putting a PKE meter in there will cause the meter to try and topple as its pretty top heavy. I wouldn’t recommended it.
Simple fix just add an extra leather strap onto it. so its film cannon yet functional thats what i plan on doing

We used to use a 1983 Motorola DynaTAC mobile phone aka the Brick holster.I have no idea wear this went to after moving so many times but heres a pic of mike wearing it next to his radio!

I know I made mention earlier in this thread about attaching a covertec clip system to your matty pke meters. Well, I was surprised today by a friend that had gotten me one for helping him build his pack earlier in the year. So when I got home with my new found toy, I decided to go to work and apply my theory.
Now before I proceed, you must realize that you will be altering your collectible, so please proceed at your own risk.
Okay, so you will need a few things: a Covertec WIPS system belt clip, a screw driver, a #6-32 machine screw + matching washer and nut, and a drill.
The first thing you should do is remove the back casing of the pke meter and remove all the screws holding the battery casing in the unit. You will need to drill 2 holes into your pke: one through the back case and one through the battery case.
Because of the limited space inside the unit, you will only really be able to put the covertec clip between the tops of the wings, centered in the back of the pke. Once you find that spot, make a mark with a silver sharpie and then drill your first hole for the #6 machine screw.
Then place the back casing back over the battery casing and with the same size drill bit, drill through the first hole into the battery case. PLEASE NOTE: there is one wire running along the inside of the battery case in this area. Please make sure it is out of the way before you drill.
After drilling the small hole, remove the back case again and take a larger drill bit to widen the hole. The idea here is to have a hole large enough for the nut for the screw to fit through.
After drilling the second hole, clean out all the scraps from the drilling and reattach the battery case to the pke unit. Then secure the covertec clip onto the back casing with the $6 machine screw, washer, and nut.
Once it is secured, put the back casing back onto the pke and screw it together. Now you have successfully modified your mattel PKE meter to have a covertec clip.
Now you can have it hanging from your belt in a manner that replicates how the pke is hung from the uniform in Ghostbusters: The Video Game.
