Don’t know how many people have seen these before, but I think this would be a great line to make some new GB figures. Just curious as to what everyone else thinks. Seeing their horror line really got me excited.

that’s the point.

they’re meant to look like how ‘detailed’ action figures in the 1980s would’ve been.

I own their set of Alien figures, and they’re fantastic. A really great recreation of the 70s/80s [Kenner](https://www.gbfans.com/wiki/real-ghostbusters/kenner-10410) SW style, and a lot of fun.

For GB figures, it might be fun, but I think the first run of the Kenner RGB figures fits the bill pretty well overall, even if they’re a larger scale.

As one of the people who didn’t see the point of the Mego-style [Real Ghostbusters](https://www.gbfans.com/wiki/games/the-real-ghostbusters-activison) figures (in other words, pointlessly cheap looking figures), I’d rather any new figures were made to a decent quality that was affordable, not intentionally poor looking to harken back to a time when figures weren’t as well detailed or made.

I have the Rocketeer in my possession and I ordered Marty & Doc… when I first heard about these I assumed they were sized similarly to [Kenners](https://www.gbfans.com/wiki/toys/kenner) [Real Ghostbusters](https://www.gbfans.com/wiki/games/the-real-ghostbusters-activison) (approx 5-6" tall) but they are smaller (approx. 3-4" tall) so I think the Marty & Doc figs will fit perfectly inside the DST BTTF Delorean… but yeah I think it’d be kind of pointless for them to make Ghostbusters or Real Ghostbusters in this style (though if they did I would probably still buy them) 😃

I don’t see how that’s a “point” though.

I’d rather not pay for something that is made to intentionally look cheap.

It’s not made to look cheap. It’s made to look vintage. What’s the difference? You can put “vintage” on the packaging.

Sculpting has come a long way since the 70s/80s. It’s not made to look cheap but rather as if it were sculpted and molded in that era. It brings back nostalgia.

I’ve bought ever one since they started releasing them. I’m waiting on the Firefly ones to ship as we speak. I like that 80’s look they have. I love em.

Despite my joke above I love the look of this line. When I worked in a comic shop we’d have a lot of people bring in their loose Star Wars figures thinking they’d be worth a ton of money. Many times they’d bring in a box of 100+ figures spanning from the original release to the latest release of toys. From sorting through the boxes I really noticed the difference between vintage and modern figures. Star Wars is one of the best lines to look at to compare how vintage and modern figures are produced because they have been the same height and characters for over 3 decades. Vintage while simpler were bulkier and heavier. They came off as a bit sturdier than newer figures. Also the harder plastics kept their color much better than the softer plastics. In fact later generation R2D2s were made of a mix of hard and soft plastic. The body (which were made of hard plastic) kept their original color while the legs (made of soft plastic) would get a greenish look to them.

So if these figures are being done right they should be bulkier and heavier. By the pictures I can’t say what type of plastic is being used but if it’s a hard plastic then it will probably take much longer to discolor. I’ll admit a hard plastic doesn’t work as well for play but for display purposes it’s much better (as far as my personal experiences go). So there we go. They aren’t simply a figure with a plain design to them. They are an entirely different generation of toy.

</div>

NOTE ABOUT HARD AND SOFT PLASTIC:

Either a plastic is hard or it is soft. For that reason I didn’t note the degrees of soft plastic. For the sake of accuracy I feel I should. From what I found the harder the plastic the better the color held up. A stormtrooper figure from 1995 will have very little discoloration while an R2D2 figure from 2001 (which for reasons unknown to me used a much softer plastic than was standard for the line) will have noticeable discoloration.

I’d love a set of ReAction Ghostbusters. I’ll be buying the Diamond set for sure but why not a set of Retro figures that I wish had come out 30 years ago! Plus they might fit in an ecto just like the ReAction Back to the Future figures fit into the Diamond DeLorean!

supposedly DST is going to produce an electronic Ecto-1 like their BTTF delorean and KITT, and Im pretty sure ReAction figures fit inside both of those vehicles. so if Funko makes ReAction GB figures (I’d love both movie and cartoon figures in that scale) then they should fit inside a DST Ecto-1…

Depends on the store. They are pretty picked over at my local TRU but the one a few miles away has them just sitting. Some Barnes & Nobel have tons and other are totally gone. I do think they are a little over priced for what they are, But I love them.

They are WAY over priced for what they are and what you get. Plus as many have said they look cheap, I don’t want to buy something if the point is intentionally to look cheap and old. If I want old school looking stuff, ill keep buying old [kenner](https://www.gbfans.com/wiki/real-ghostbusters/kenner-10410) stuff!

Ten bucks is a bit steep for what they are. I’ve still bought some of the cooler lines though. Karate Kid figures makes eight year old me very happy. lol

I like the Star Trek figures as well. The new Gorn one is pretty rad.

I never really cared for the ReAction Figures. If Back to the Future, a movie that didn’t have a figure line, couldn’t get me to pull the trigger then Ghostbusters most certainly won’t. Like windycitywarrior, I’ll stick to buying the old [kenner](https://www.gbfans.com/wiki/real-ghostbusters/kenner-10410) stuff if I want old school style toys. I get why people like them, they just aren’t for everybody.
