I live in a row house right now and it’s basically impossible to build a pack from scratch. All the rooms are too small to build anything in with out completely clearing out the room. Now why don’t I do that? All rooms are being used. And now here comes an interesting why I don’t do it out side. Well more funny then interesting. Our neighbor is an uptight rat. A 5 year-old girl put a price sticker on her car. When Ms. D. (our neighbor) notiiced she called the police and demaned that the family of the girl buy her a new car because the price sticker destroyed the value of the car. No the sticker wasn’t glued on or anything permananent infact it was easily taken off but this is how over dramatic this woman can get and there’s no doubt that working out side with loud tools will lead to even worse problems. However I am keeping buying a built pack as a last resort. I will probably have to buy a pack shell wand box a lot of the little detail parts from other people. Since so many of these componants will have been created by others and the noyl things I really did was assemble the pieces would I loose the title of the builder of the pack and not be a prop builder? I am asking this because I want to know how I would be seen in the eyes of the Ghosthead community. I love to write and I take pride in the fact that I can do it fairly well when I want to but all my friends claim they can write but the truth is they can’t they just say they can because they have good grades in english class and the only reason they write is because they are forced to. So I didn’t want to be the kid claiming he can write because of english class in the midst of all you truely great writers.
Is there association rules against it clearly written out? I HIGHLY doubt there are any state or local laws in this regard, during the daylight hours…
With that said, tell here to simply shut up and feel free to call the cops as you would love to file a harassment complaint against her…
When and if the police are called by her, chances are real good they will put her in her place in regards to the laws…
Anyway I guess the point is you pay to live there and deserve the same respect she does, don’t let a grumpy loud mouth bully control your life…
PS the sticker thing is a different story as technically it caused “harm” to personal property, yes I know it was very small but it does have a hair sized thread of legal backing…
wel the thing about the sticker is she didn’t asked to have it taken off or anything she IMMEDIATELY caled the cops and demanded a new car w/o even talking. and we have tried to talk to the cops but she seemes to play the race card. and i am sure our neighbor will keep harassing us. there was a stump on our side of the chain link fence and she said since it came over on her property she wanted it to be removed well as it turns out she has done this in the past atleast 5 times over the same thing. and each time she complains we have to have a zoning guy come out and tell her she’s wrong my family even got a letter of aplogy from the city becuz of her complaints about the stump. and i am currently trying tio find out the laws about working outside but i wouldn’t be surprised if there were laws against certain parts. since there are no drive ways at row houses and we live in the city the cars have to be parked on the street and there is an actual law that saws u can’t keep your car parked in the same place for more than a few days. there’s also a law that demands you have lids on your trashcans so there are quite a few surprising laws we’ve encountered. also if i didn’t mention it before i live in baltmore and you can’t leave stuff outside w/o the possibilit of it getting stolen. it’s so bad he have our grill gained to a post on our patio so no1 can steal. yeah no what else is chained down? our 12 foot ladder! yes it’s so bad even our 12 foot ladder might get taken!
It’s simple call the local police department and ask them if there is a problem with it… Explain your situation in full and give them a heads up…
I highly doubt that during the daylight hours there would be any restrictions written in law, if there are they are probably very limited…
well i just learned I might be able to build a pack at my church (my dad is the pastor so that’s why i’d be allowed to build something) the board there would have to talk about it. tho this could mean a 7 month wait ![]()
Yes, as Exo stated, it’s simple. Call up your local police department and ask them if building an unlicensed nuclear accelerator in your yard is legal, during daylight hours of course. If they freak, go for “positron collider,” as that might sound a little less threatening. I mean, let’s be serious here, are they really going to know what a proton pack is? Use the terms that explain it, so they know what you’re talking about.
well i asked a cop and he said i should be fine! tho he knows my neighbor (not personally but from her complaints) and he said not to worry about her now if i get the pack started which is more recommened i try to make a vacuum form pack or one from wood? and thank you both for your help and yeah know what’s really kewl? when i told the cop i wanted to build a pack (which i was surprised to note jhsanny mentioning that i should do) i asked if he knew what it was and he joked back “yeah my kid brother really wants one” lol
oh jeez…sounds like my neighbor…they are so freakin nosy …they even called the fire department one time when we had one of thsoe outside chimneys burning…what was crazy is i think my mom had just driven by the department a little earlier and they had JUST washed the truck…but everything we were doing was safe..the firmen said that there wasnt a hazzard with what we wer doing…we couldnt prove to them that they did it but we just know becaus ehtey have done crap like that before…im sorry you have to live next to a person like that…if i had gotten to this before you found out it was ok i was gonna tell you to just go ahead and build just inspite of her…payback for oall the crap she ahs done to you and your family…and the family of the little girl who put the sticker on her car…was it an expensive car
no it was a pretty crappy car and it just bothers me so much that she does this. i hope building a pack pisses her off i really do no1 on the street likes her and even thoes you have tried to get a long can’t and may be this will be my justice lol
Dude you are who YOU are, not who others label you to be.
a crappy car and she calls up the police and DEMANDS a new one…sounds like she was also trying to get rid of that one  …all i can say now is if you do it and it bugs her…enjoy every moment of it lol…i she also the type of person to yell and scream like crazy over something like that
When you’re done with your pack, here’s a thought.. Her car isn’t a wagon is it?? You ought to pull up some pics of the Ecto on here and see what you could rustle together for a cheap roof rack.. If she thought a sticker was bad…
ha ha true and ya know what she actually has a video camera watching her car to make sure it’s not keyed of course now i think she got herself a toyota corrola or sumthing so sadly it’s not the smae crap car. but who cares it needs a roof rack lol
She’s obvioulsy crazy. Go for it… land of the free, right?
In all, weather or not you scratch build a pack, or build it from a kit, it’s still a LOT of work. Even with one of Funkzilla’s awesome shells, I still had months of work to do, and even now I am still messing with it.
So in my opinion, weather or not you start with a few sheets of wood/plastic, or a shell with a whack of parts, seeing the pack come together and take shape is one of the most rewarding things you can do in the hobby. Don’t let anyone take that from you.
Anything I can do to help you, let me know, I have built 2 packs thus far. And keep an eye out for some parts that I will have launched in partnership with Namebrand and PVJ.

Thanks now i just need to secure building money (aka cash for parts) and i need to make a decision on the mateiral i’m going to use etc. The only problem i’m having is trying to figure out how you’d attach a shell to a mother board (if it’s plastic which is the direction i’m heading. Then i gotta figure out how to secure the lights sigh atleast it’l all be worth it
