I guess we’ll have to agree to disagree on that point then. I signed up for the forum because I wanted to discuss the topic. I have not resorted to name-calling or all caps, and I have taken pains to be polite. It is not up to me to police people on etiquette or what constitutes “Joking”. We share space on a parade and the event, community and people therein are important to me. Believe it or not, since you are an attendee, that includes your group. I joined for a DISCUSSION, not a fight. I stand by what I said.
I’ll have to cede that point. Nerd Rage is a common factor in groups, boards and the like. But it does not have to be that way. Nothing is perfect. There are always selfish people who ruin good things. Do you REALLY want to be one of THEM??
How was I forcing my social standards? I am mentioning them. What sort of threat would I make? I’m TELLING??!! One post is not a revolution. Methinks they are hitting home to be making such a response. (Other than the silly trollbait replies.. )
This place, the software used, the professional look, says that someone gave a damn when they built it. If you want it to be a place of threats, anger and bullying.. that’s your choice. When you bring it to Dragoncon.. the people of Dragoncon respond.
I find this hard to believe as your first post here was telling us that we should not be allowed to go to Dragon*Con at all. Do you really expect to come to a website and tell everyone here they are dumb and should not be allowed to go? How is that any different then the main objective of this thread? Don’t try and hold yourself to a higher standard.. you’re no different than those who you are trying to “discuss” with.
Well. If this is what the people of Dragon*Con look like.. I’m not sure why people would want to go.
This person is Corey Burdin. He is the other person who is involved with raising money through the Kickstarter. (The other DragonBall Z person in the photo.)
I understand Chace’s intentions, I hate panhandlers be it digital or not but given the fact that you all found out about this after the fact and considering the low dollar amount requested (I completely believe that it was just friends and family who contributed) this entire situation should have been avoided entirely. There are now at least 3 people who’s first interaction with the site has been negative for very idiotic reasons.
At least Jack got to do some “bitchslapping” so I guess it was all worth it right ?
AJ said from the start that he didn’t condone this but no one seemed to give a shit. The usual suspects all showed up to play pile-on and I’m just going to assume that as usual Jack approved all of PC’s posts in this thread which were obviously so useful.
