obviously using the passing of Harold Ramis to make a quick buck. we asked for this figure 2 years ago and they didnt deliver until now. how convenient.
It’s not Peck. From the neck down, that’s the same mold used for Venkman and Stantz.
Besides the obvious element of the jacket with attached proton pack, the Peck torso has a vest-- which actually might have been a better choice for Egon, who wears a sweater-vest in the court scenes.
But the Peck torso uses a different method of attaching the head, so that’s probably why they went with the regular GB torso. As always, maximum mileage from the same old molds.
As for the arms and legs, they’ve used them on practically all the non-jumpsuit GBs and most of the Batman figures.
I’m intrigued by that KUD Meter though… ya think they just scaled down the accessory from the 12" dolls?
I left this on the Matty site. Figured I’d repost it here just in case it accidentally disappears over there.

You’re correct, but I think that it is the biggest part of why this figure has come to be. The other part is the need to make money without expending any, or just a little, new capital. Making money on a dead man’s back? Icing on the cake!
Mattel has said they were done with the movie figures. They morphed the Ghostbusters Movie Collection forum into just Ghostbusters to prove that point. To drive that home, they announced that they are working on “The Real Ghostbusters” figure line, maybe another prop.
Then Harold Ramis passes away.
Suddenly, a premium memorial figure SDCC exclusive that they could pump out without the need for new molds and charge more for it to boot? Mascot Matty is dancing around with dollar signs where his eyes should be.
Per the leaked information from Sony Emails, Mattel has a big commitment to the Ghostbusters brand in a film year. I am not that surprised that were getting this figure released and I expect we will see more GB related Mattel releases over the next year. I do think that this thing looks terrible though.
i gave up on Matty years ago; yes, I own the props <re: toys>, but the figures were so lazily done and reused and reuseing other molds etc etc that I gave up and sold all my Matty figures (Vigo and Dana were the last straw for me)
